Post How to buy Nexus 4 (or whatever) from Google Play Store *Outside* US

No Google won't check the country of the card. The only thing matters is if your bank allows the transaction with a foreign billing address. I am very certain of this because my friend used a Vietnamese card and I used a Japanese card and our orders both went through without any problem. And...

Did you mail them internationally? The rule doesn't apply to domestic shipments though. AFAIK, now they do indeed allow batteries with international shipping Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Post How to buy Nexus 4 (or whatever) from Google Play Store *Outside* US

@the Croatia guy: You're out of luck now. The shipping estimate is 4 to 5 weeks. I'm in Japan and I successfully ordered two 16gb in the first batch and had them shipped to my friend's address. It does depend on how strictly your bank performs address matching. I guess since japanned address...

Post [Q] Switching off cores to save energy?

Underclocking is different from core scheduling. Under locking definitely saves battery , though it comes with performance trade off. However, disabling cores randomly WILL NOT save battery and probably do the opposite. I guess some people can tinker the kennel to try optimize the scheduling...

Post [Official] Nexus 4 For Hong Kong - Release date, rumours and update

Just out of curiosity, why don't you guys try a forwarding service like BorderLinx or Shipito/MyUS etc? I used a Japanese credit card with the virtual address (given by the company) as the billing address and shipping address - the order went through smoothly. Just use some VPN to get an US IP...

Post [Q] Nexus 4 Box Dimensions

I'm thinking of using BorderLinx or Shipito. Their price is more reasonable than DHL or Fedex or UPS, too. And I was a bit surprised that I was able to use my Japanese credit card to purchase two Nexus 4's (I have to use a US billing address, but somehow the bank still OKed with that). Next time...

Post [Q] Switching off cores to save energy?

    1. Yes, technically speaking it's possible - but you won't be able to do it with stock ROM. 2. No. I doubt that. If you use one core and the core gets overheaded due to high load, then it's the opposite of energy saving. Don't bother tinker to much with core scheduling, since such tasks are...

    Post The Pending crew

The above email is just an automatic reply. I called the support team and was told that my order was put on hold for review - probably because I used an VPN and ordered from outside US (the billing and shipping address are US though). Now it would be very shattering for me if my order gets...

    Post [App][JB][MMS] Softbank/MMS/JB with Emoji

The SMS center number is stored in the simcard, changing phone won't help. Check yours with *#*#4635#*#*, phone information. You'll find the section about the gateway. Be careful not to click Update. Click Refresh instead to check the current value. Soft bank's one should be 0791180966153900...

SMS has nothing to do with this. You have to check the SMS center number to make sure it works. Also, if you send an SMS to a number outside softbank, it's not guaranteed to work Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

You can receive message but you cannot send? It seems more like your APN setting has some problems. If your MMS agent is incorrect, you can't even receive the message. I don't have an S3 so I can't tell much. Did you try GoSMS for once to see if it works? You can set MMS agent with GoSMS. What...
