Are there any other options to gain root. Like can we use ODIN to downgrade back to a previous version that does have a root option? Or has anyone injected root into a stock ROM, that we can flash with ODIN. Mr.Robinson does that for other ROM's on this forum.

Go into settings and see if the imei still shows up? Sometimes the IMEI is lost while flashing roms. This would not allow the phone to get service. Was this after you flashed a rom?

Sounds like it was blacklisted. I was wondering if blacklists apply to MVNOs. Like the case in point, will a phone blocked on T-Mobile work on Simple Mobile even though Simple uses Tmobile network.
