i formatted my backup SD card, and copied the essential data to it, and i have it running in the phone now. it seems to be running fine so far, i suspect the other SD may have gotten corrupt or physically damaged

Not as bad as dropping your phone. That can be pretty bad, yes :). What precisely do each of the various wipe/resets accomplish? I.e., factory, dalek, memory cache, partition reset, etc. Thanks Sent from my PG06100 using XDA App...
