It might work, do a twrp backup then try it out. Did not think it would be this easy but somehow it worked. This will install like a normal apk and enable live wallpaper http://android-apk.org/apk/com.android.wallpaper.livepicker/5.1.1-54...
Right, once on FireOS 3 you can just follow the guide. For the most part. Can you be more specific on the downgrading using the 3 files I listed to be put in the USB stick. It seems you skipped from getting the files all the way to flashing...

There is no guide on how to go back to stock FW on a FTV1 once TWRP is install. This is due to the version of FW & TWRP that the FTV1's where first updated to FireOS 5. That was FW v5.0.5 & TWRP v6. So the TWRP had matured enough to fully block...
