I don't get the viewing angles paranoia to be honest. I think myself a fairly normal user of a phone, in that I hold it more or less straight on rather than trying to look at it from 60°. What do you gain from crazy viewing angles exactly?
No you don't, it's just Samsung who think putting something important in an unprotected area of the filesystem is a good idea.
