...and the app still tells me, that my kernel version is "r1"...what am I doing wrong? Nothing wrong on your end, we all have it. The app needs an update for the check to work again. We'll have to wait for it.
It'd be cool to finally release AD 3.1 in May. However it's not cool that nobody cares about i9300 anymore, it's likely that I'll buy a new device soon as well. Exynos annoys me more than ever. I'm already very happy with how long you stayed...
Got the new exp version with 5.1.1 and so far it seems to be working great :). One thing I've noticed so far is that with the first time booting up the settings part (login in to your google account and choose your wifi network) is extremely smoot...
That's why I started with just give up if you wanna go the magisk version. If it really bothers you, you could just get the non root version. Yup, I just keep deselecting the auto-update for YouTube and wait for the app to disappear from the list...
