Are you sure you installed it on the recovery partition? Even if TWRP didn't work, the most that would happen would be to start Android normally. Install TWRP using SP FlashTool (try making sure on the recovery partition) and try restarting on it....
I realized that the version I'm using is quite old. I tried installing the latest version but that gives me this error, ./flash_tool: error while loading shared libraries: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory ...
