The current HKM is crap, I wrote it when I was a pseudo-ignorant the new one is much much much better. However HKM is not the cause of your problem, all it does is apply the settings for you on boot and that's all.

I have broken screen in my mako on Sunday....I think I will buy something new in few weeks. What phones are supported by Hells-Core kernel? I want to have the hellish stuf on my new phone 😀.
