You can get it to turn on when charging using MotoGuide - a module for Xposed framework. Works on my moto x. Don't use anything else in that module.

webtop2sd is broke using the 3.0x version of su. I backed down and used 2.3.1-ef and it works. Also this fix is for version 2.3.5 not 2.3.4.
