I had a similar problem with my T-Mobile LG G2 where I was rooted and accepted an OTA. It broke root and I couldn't get IOroot or Stumproot to work. Went to flash a downgrade and found the phone wouldn't go into download mode. It was NOT bricked....

If your guy's moto e is the same as the US cellular variant, then you can just unlock your bootloader and flash a custom recovery and get root that way. I mean, I have a CDMA moto e and all that worked for me. I have a custom recovery, root, and a...
