If we can run it on HTC One X, I will absolutely use it. Ubuntu is more exciting than Android for me.
Funny enough, it tells you not to remove the battery or the SD card during the update. I will not remove battery or SD card if I can find them :D :D

As long as your bootloader is unlocked, you can switch between recoverys whenever you want :good: So answer to your question is yes, you can flash stock recovery then make the update and flash back cwm recovery again.
If your phone is S-OFF you do not need to flash boot.img separately.
