im running CWM (thor rev1.3.4) with taboonay 2.1b (with the default taboonay Villian Kernel included from taboonay 2.0) with no luck applying the update.

your volume rocker should control xbmc's volume when it's loaded. and to control sys volume you have to change focus (you can use the notifications area without leaving xbmc to do that)
