Here's what I have right now.
I used the vinyl skin to hold the metal plate in place. I had the fear of scratching the back as well, so I wrapped the metal plate in tape and stuck it under the skin.

How has another chinese company not ripped this off already? Obtaining design details from a proprietary manufacturer must be childs play for any mainland chinese company at this point.
