I have great problem now!

I bought my Mi4C some months ago, and I flashed the dev rom at the beginning, using the built-in root function.
I was using it happily, until one day, after flashing a new rom, I found that there is no root anymore.

So, I followed the instructions, apply for unlocking the bootloader.
After 3 weeks of using the phone without root, I got the unlock code finally.

Then I found that it's a nightmare.
I am in a deadlock.

To unlock, I have to sign in Mi account in the phone.
However, I have frozen the Xiaomi services already when I first used the phone.
Now, I don't have root permission to unfreeze the Xiaomi services.
So, I cannot sign in my Mi account, unless I hard reset my phone.

I find this really ridiculous!
At the first place the phone was not locked.
Suddenly it is locked, and I have no way to unlock!

What is the best way to solve my problem now?

Root procedure have changed since 6.1.14, but you can still have root with locked bl, have a look here http://en.miui.com/thread-185414-1-1.html

My problem:
1) Go to "Security - Permissions - Allow ROOT Access", it tells me that, I have to unlock fastboot first (i.e. unlock bootloader).
2) I have though of flashing SuperSU, but I am not able to boot into recovery mode. (Pressing Vol+ & Power button to boot leads me to fastboot mode(?))

Any solution?
Thanks.

Sorry, I was thinking that root was independent from locked bl...
Anyway if your phone is working, simply flash the official stable ROM by updater app to unlock the bl or follow this http://xdaforums.com/mi-4c/general/mi4c-flash-twrps-recovery-cms-row-t3307801

It's a close enviroment.... like apple id, etc.

I find it normal to make use of UID (unique identifier data) to be able to lock or unlock boot loader.

En.miui.com being an official forum from Xiaomi, it is normal to be active there, not in 3rd party forums. Unlike HTC, Samsung or other big players.. they have a forum...

    Hello everyone,
Just reporting news from last official update of china dev rom 6.1.14 : Xiaomi locked the bootloader for mi 4c and mi note pro in the last dev rom, so if you update you will no longer be able to use fastboot for flashing.
If you have a custom recovery the update process will result in a bootloop.

    Link to the official changelog

From 6.1.14 root procedure have changed, have a look here

As reported by @person_x and confirmed by @cowithgun you can revert back the bootloader flashing last stable rom from updater app

FOR DEVICES IN BOOTLOOP check this guide

Xiaomi.eu remove bootloader locking from its rom, so Xiaomi.eu and sMiui 6.1.14 roms are safe!

I've read this from some user on MIUI forum before but I cannot find the post. Sorry again for taking the credit from someone but I believe this may be useful information for a lot of users.

For everyone which unfortunately is on 6.1.14 just download the stable ROM V7.0.16.0.LXKCNCI and flash it through the updater. The bootloader will then be unlocked. After just flash Cyanogen or MIUI from xiaomi.eu and run away from the official ROM :)

Wow, I didn't see this coming...
If you could spend 5 minutes to read the tread you could realize that my opinion is like yours, and the user complaining didn't have issues related to the last update...
    I'm not on Xiaomi side!
It's not my fault if people always rush to update, they are like people who rush to reply, they deserve it...

    he said:
Does anyone has an idea on what to do with this phone now?
I just bought it today and I was going to install xiaomi.eu rom. Now I have just spent 2000 HKD on a phone full of "MI accounts" and Chinese software that is no use to me... Even the unlock method requires diamond status or whatsoever on your MI account? I don't even want to have a MI account!! This is madness.. and the unlock software is all in Chinese even on your phone!

I'm assuming he meant that he can't unlock the bootloader and flash TWRP because it has been updated. If he's not on 6.1.14, then he's fine, but that was not what I understood from his posts.

And if an official (even if "dev") update is available, shows up on your phone from an official source (from the manufacturer), you don't click "apply" because it's rushing? If you apply an update that the manufacturer of your phone pushes to your device and bricks it it's your fault because you're rushing?
I know from your posts that you also don't agree with xiaomi's actions, but I can't agree with your stance on the update part. (or maybe we're both losing something in the translation and in the way we're expressing our thoughts)

This entire mess is absurd and I'll wait a couple more weeks to see how xiaomi deals with it, but between this and the kernel sources never getting release (and violating grossly the GPLv2) I'm starting to think about selling the device and go to something like the inferior (but still enough for my usage) OPX. That's how far xiaomi is pushing customers.

This is going to be a problem for me. Brought my phone from ibuygou and my phone came with a mi account already associated with it and I don't know the password for it :/

Create a new account, where you will input all your data, including the phone number...

Achive Diamond member on MIUI forum..with that new account, otherwise you will not be able to unlock it.

Just hit that restore to factory deff. button in security and your phone will be wiped. remember to backup everything on computer.

After your phone is factory deff. then on the initial setup, input the new MI account you just created.. and you're good to go.

Application will be made by the unlock tool, once you logged with your UID (the account number on forum) and password. As soon as MI will let you unlock the bootloader, you will receive an SMS, that your account was allowed to unlock it.

Only after that, you will be able to unlock the bootloader.

Well, I think a *****, more coming from a company that its beginnings were a simple modified ROM, if all the phones have blocked today Xiaomi not exist. These behaviors piss me much. At least hopefully option to open it easily, like google with the nexus
