No you dont need.
Firmware v8 is a must, this one for example https://github.com/XiaomiFirmwareUpd...45f64a_8.0.zip
Make sure you have appropriate twrp, latest 3.2.3.0.
Wipe system, data, flash firmware then this PE v9. Wipe dalvik cache and cache, reboot ...

Holy Moly, didn't know it has been a thing right off the ROM. Is it snappy? Just bought one and looking for some good ROM, GCam on my HTC 10 takes 5 seconds to process the image...

Here kinda slow to launch the app (maybe when calling camera module), sometimes it lag to take picture, often slow in hdr image processing

Then is aways the same thing I guess, I thought that having the exatly same hardware would make it work more fluently. But since it's not worse I'm already satisfied...

It depend on light intensity and cpu temperature

The time depend on how many picture for hdr you are settings.

Found a bug?:

Check if you make a clean install (wiping Cache, Data, Dalvik/ART Cache and System). If you did a "dirty flash" I won't give you a solution. If you made a clean install, report it, and don't forget the logcat. Official supported ROMs can be only a bug of the ROM or of the device. If it's of ROM, report in the official ways of the ROM, like Telegram Group or G+ Community.

first thanks for rom . this is good rom! . this rom have some issue :
1) nfc toggle has problem
2) when the battery saver is on, lags are visible
3) the camera software is great, but its battery life is very high
**my phone is mi 5s and my rom v8.12.2018 android pie**
in my opinion,rom`s problems are the above, which, if solved , has a better user experience.
