We’re really excited to announce the release of Paranoid Android Pie betas.

On first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. For those who are unfamiliar, Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhances the overall user experience.

The beta builds include adjustments and improvements on top of the stock Android CAF base. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features.

Device-specific issues / to-do

- Permissive SELinux
- Nothing hardware specific afaik.

Note: Custom kernels are NOT supported!

Thank you!

Night light doesn't work. The screen blinks constantly until you turn it off.

Hey yeah, we've yet to port framework features, this is a beta build...
Which will bring the hardware backlight button functionality.
Same goes for SELinux, will be done in release build...

Thank you for reporting DRM (L3) and WFD, will get that to work...

I'm aware of night light, will try to fix that..
Also what screen blinks are you talking about? Can you elaborate please?

Nice to hear that. I also nocited that my USB pen is not recognised. It works when I use it to flash anything, but not when the ROM boots.

It doesn't matter where you are. The screen just turns on/off all of a sudden in any app, even on desktop

I don't know if I may ask for customizations. If it's possible, please could you add the NFC toggle and the capacity to show when it's turned on/off on status bar? Also it would be nice if you could change brightness by slidding through status bar and button gestures (one tap, long press, etc.). Just if you want, it isn't a demand.

Thank you for your work!
