GCAM ROUNDUP
So I was looking on our GCam thread and found it the most confusing thread I've ever encountered on XDA.
Hence, I decided to look for other sources to find a suitable version of Gcam with some recommended settings for our device.
If you are on MIUI, please add modules named MIUI, and if you are on AOSP based roms please add AOSP named modules in Magisk.

Magisk Module- Updated Version [24/06/2019]
Version 6.3 for MIUI Oreo and 6.4 for LOS
https://mega.nz/#F!qa40nArB!Cq6oh3GfZ0-sITRVtly94Q
Changelog:
AWB fix
Slow motion fix

GCAM 6.1- Updated Version 7.7 [25/04/2019]
GCam version which has Xlib v2s Mi 6 config added (calibrated based on iPhone XS) libs.
For the best result in sharpness and color accuracy, use Eszdman v3.1 libs along with Pit_Z.s.L(Xlib_v2s_mi6)0.2 config.
Just install apk file and add respective module based on your OS (MIUI or AOSP based)
https://mega.nz/#F!qa40nArB!Cq6oh3GfZ0-sITRVtly94Q
This Gcam version supports export/import of config files.

How to make it work on Android 9 Beta 9.4.11, 9.4.25, etc... STATUS UPDATE 24/06/2019

- Install Enable from Trwp
- Add Magisk Module
- Clear Cache/ Dalvik

All in One Module MIUI 10 PIE- 24/06/2019
The same functionality as what was available for MIUI Oreo. Including: Rounded corners, EIS, HDR+ for front cam, 1080p slowmo for Gcam, 4k recording for front cam, HDR pro/ live for stock camera app, etc...

Configuration Files (Super Zoom -Zero Shutter Lag has been added) [21/02/2019]
New ZSL Config: Pitbull's Xlib v2s
I also added my own config with the name of mrhami, please let me know how it works.
Config files are stored in the /GCam/Configs/ directory, So:
Create a folder named "GCAM" in the root of sdcard
Create a subfolder named "Configs" in GCAM folder
Download config files from the link below and copy them to configs folder.
https://mega.nz/#F!yWBVSK4Y!CMk3B2BAPDzUpLJYn5GKOg
Now open Gcam, double click the dark area around the capture button, select the config, and then click on "restore".
Importing

Export/Save:
To back up your settings, go to Gcam settings, in Help & Feedback section choose Save Settings option, assign a name. you can also share your configs with other users here. Mention me in your post and I will upload your config in Mega folder.
Exporting

You can also try @00raq00 modded version from here

GCAM 5.3 - Modded Version 12 [27/11/2018]
As for V 5.3 I found gdb417's version, It has manual focus settings and tele or normal lens selection.
First version can be installed as normal apk, which needs @Alexey070315 module in order to be able to switch cameras.
Last version is Version 12. If you have older versions please uninstall the previous version.

Portrait mode adds a bokeh effect to background of photos. In MIUI camera which uses both lenses this will be done using the combination of Telephoto lens and main lens. But is Gcam the bokeh effect is added to the photo using software (that's why the effect will not be added to anything rather than people, as the algorithm doesn't recognize them).
In Gcams with switchable lens option, telephoto lens can be used to take photos with 2x optical zoom.
Long press the camera switch button, the first option is for changing camera. When you turn it on it switches to tele lens.
The second option is for manual focus settings. When activated then the sub menu below it redirects to Manual focus settings.

@Pantherx12 long press the camera switch button, and turn on the first option.
Or go to settings and turn on the first option.
There is no need to restart the app.

Doesn't seem to do anything.

My UI looks like this.

That's because you installed V 6.1 which does not support switching lenses. Install version 5.3 instead.
