Is everything else working including slow motion? And is there any lag compared to the unmodified systema's camera speed? Cause I've experienced those in 7.0, and a lot of crashes

As this is not your original work could you also link us to the original thread so incase there are issues we can find them there. Also it's a good thing to link the original thread and not just the person whose work yours sharing. Thanks for the video mate.

I worry that the Pixel camera is not optimized for the Mi A1. Are there any comparison shots to see if there is a difference in picture quality?

PS: I know that I am suggesting that the current camera app is optimized, which is a little ludicrous if you consider the low light performance ;)

The current stock (A1) camera is a king in daylight. Both rear and Portrait ... But in low light its not. Pixel camera won there. .. For example if u like to take a Portrait shot in extremely low light in A1 then Pixel Camera will help. With Flashlight also....

I don't have any comparison shots now. But i can tell u its worth. 200% worth

This is great news, thank you! It makes me hopeful that the low light performance in the vanilla version of the A1 will improve significantly with software updates... fingers crossed

This is Epic! It's wonderful how Google proves to be a portrait maestro without dual cameras!!
Same lights (none) and still portrait mode acheived with flash from front camera. I am so happy to have a phone running on Oreo and to have stumbled upon this post. Thanks.
Samples attached.
