Pasive: It's just a splitted cable. It's garbage.

Active: It's actually a cable with a module that integrates either a DAC chip for audio fidelity or a PD chip for fast charge, or both.

You should get one with both. The first one doesn't have PD. Check this one, it's worth the price:
