I can not install it says optimizing applications and then does not advance :(
Other people have successfully installed. What custom Recovery are you using? Did you do a 'Factory Reset'?

For some people formatting /data in custom Recovery is also necessary. Note that this will erase internal storage; photos, videos, etc.

if I did everything, full hard reset, I tried with 2 recovery, 2.8.5 and 2.8.7, and the two I spend the same :(

What is lollipop radio firmware
I've added a new FAQ entry:
What is Radio Firmware?
It is the software responsible for your mobile phone signal and on older devices may control wifi, bluetooth, and GPS (on most newer devices, these are handled by the kernel and ROM). Flashing an alternative Radio / Modem firmware may improve (or diminish) battery performance, network signal strength, and roaming capability. Flashing Dual Sim radios onto a Single Sim device or vice versa may result in a permanent brick. Likewise, CDMA radios are only for those devices. Be careful.

While Lollipop includes a newer Radio Firmware; it is not essential to install it.

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for anything that happens as a result of flashing these files. Your destiny is your own.

    Stock Motorola Lollipop ROM Collection

    Lollipop Bootloader not required

All ROMs are based on Stock Firmware Images. Each zip contains ROM and Kernel only.

First boot can take a while, don't panic.

    Untouched Version:
Nothing removed, nothing added. Pure Stock.

    Optimized Version:
    Stock Kernel | Debloated | Zipaligned | Rooted | Busybox | init.d Script Support
OTA Updates Disabled | Non-essential Motorola Services removed | More RAM available

    How to flash:
    1) Boot into latest TWRP and Format Data (Wipe > Format DATA > Yes) - This step is essential, and will wipe Internal Storage (Downloads, Music, Photos etc, **backup important files**)

    3) TWRP > Wipe > Factory reset and flash ROM.
    4) Reboot.

**Deodexed ROMs cause some issues with Motorola apps. Use Non-Deodexed versions if this matters to you.

    Miscellaneous: (Flash in custom Recovery)

    Recommended Settings:
All Animations speed: 0.5 (Changed via Developer options - see below)
Wi-Fi Sleep policy: Never. (Changed via Settings > Wi-Fi > Advanced) - Check Battery stats occasionally | some Apps will force Wi-Fi to be always on

    Bugs:
When flashing, I get the following: "Error code 7" or "E:Error executing updater binary in zip"
This is a custom recovery bug. Try restarting recovery and flashing again. Alternatively you may need to:

TWRP > Wipe > Format Data > Yes

Note: This will delete anything on internal storage - photos, music, videos etc.

Why does my screen ripple | flicker?
This is due to compatibility issues between KitKat Bootloader and the Lollipop Kernel. Turn screen off once to fix. Custom stock kernels in the future will hopefully solve this.

My Battery History shows Wi-Fi is constantly in use, even when turned off?
The issue appears to be due to certain apps are keeping Wi-Fi active in Lollipop. Solution here.

    Xposed Framework and Android 5.1
I cannot provide support for the use of Xposed Framework. It is still a highly experimental work-in-progress MOD with no official release.

The thread for reporting issues related to Xposed is here: [UNOFFICIAL] Xposed for Android 5.1

    Frequently Asked Questions:
    What is this Collection?
All of these ROMs are created from the Motorola Factory Firmware images. A pure source, unlike a dump of an OTA Updated system; the upgrading process patches, moves or deletes system files. The result is possibly bugs being introduced, and files being left over. These ROMs are completely clean, and any bugs you find are genuine Android issues.

Why are these ROMs so small / missing apps?
Due to limited internal storage on Moto E, I have made the decision to remove many of the Google and Motorola apps. This both saves space and also avoids duplicate apps on your phone. All of these apps are available in Google Play Store.

How do I update to the Lollipop Radio Firmware?
Update your current Radio Firmware by downloading and extracting the correct file from OP, and using the following mFastboot commands: (Simply put all files together in same folder - SDK not required) (USB Drivers (Windows))
    mfastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
    mfastboot erase modemst1
    mfastboot erase modemst2
    mfastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn

    Related: Minimal ADB and Fastboot

Do I need to upgrade to Lollipop before flashing these ROMs?
No. You can go directly from any KitKat ROM. Simply 'factory reset' in custom recovery and flash.

Do I need to downgrade to 4.4.4 before flashing these ROMs?
    No.

How do I make Animations in Lollipop faster or turn them off?
Enable Developer options - repeatedly tap 'Build number' in About phone. Change the three 'Animation scale' settings to: .5x or off. "2.5x" is available if you have installed the Xposed Module known as GravityBox.

How to enable 'Battery Saving Mode'?
Go to Settings > Battery > Press the three dots > Battery saver. You can choose to enable immediately or have it automatically turn on at a specified battery percentage. To noticeably improve Battery Life, flash a custom Stock Kernels if and when available here.

What is 'Zipaligining' | Post-install zipaligning?
    Zipaligining
It makes app use less RAM. Longer answer.

    Post-install zipaligning
Newly installed apps are zip-aligned after reboot. This process occurs only once per app, as a database exists in /system/usr. When an app is updated, the new apk will also be zip-aligned and added to the database.

How to hide the Network | Carrier name in the status bar?
Settings > More > Mobile network > Show mobile network

How to turn off Lock-screen rotation?
This setting is a built.prop edit. Use a text editor with root access to open: /system/build.prop - remove the last line, or change to 'false':
    lockscreen.rot_override=true

XT1021 Retail Latin America Stock 5.1 (Optimized) v1.0 is now available. XT1022 Retail Latin America Stock 5.1 (Optimized) v1.0 is also available here.

    Changelog:
Updated: Google Calender | Clock | Dialer | Messenger | Play Store
    Replaced: Motorola Gallery with Piktures

    Notes:
Regarding Stage-fright vulnerabilities, it may be possible to flash the following zip to patch all Stock 5.1 ROMs. The files come from Moto G (Falcon) but potentially they will be accepted by the Moto E ROMs. I recommend you do a nandroid backup before flashing. Please provide feedback if you can. You can test if the patch was successful with Stagefright Detector.

    Today.

@op why have u removed camera app by default, even calendar and clock apps are also not present, I guess they are not bloatware but necessary apps.
I don't own a Moto E. I've started off by keeping things as simple as possible. I need to make sure ROM is bug free - then I can take a vote on what apps are 'essential.'

My main thinking was that Moto E has limited internal storage, I thought people would appreciate the option of adding only the apps they consider important.
