HI Guys...
Finally Marshmallow on my Moto G 2014 Xt1068
XT1069 Firmware works with XT1068 Modems flawlessly!
Procedure to update to Marshmallow
Step 1 : Download zip from here ( RETBR_XT1069_5.0.2_LXB22.46-28_cid12_CFC.xml.zip) : https://mega.nz/#F!EooXRKqT!je-JHAT1617jGi-YdBmeVg
-- extract the folder, press shift + right click in the same folder, open command prompt.in that command prompt, type all these commands...

Flash it on your XT1068
Code:
mfastboot.exe flash partition gpt.bin
mfastboot.exe flash motoboot motoboot.img
mfastboot.exe flash logo logo.bin
mfastboot.exe flash boot boot.img
mfastboot.exe flash recovery recovery.img
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3

mfastboot.exe flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
mfastboot.exe erase modemst1
mfastboot.exe erase modemst2
mfastboot.exe flash fsg fsg.mbn

or https://userscloud.com/y93bwd2vptgl (Thanks for the mirror @manojkumar8552)
It's an OTA update to 22.56.3 and very important in order to flash Marshmallow

Step 3 : Finally get your Marshmallow OTA from here : http://d-h.st/5KAF or https://mega.nz/#!jkNgjYhR!kiFzsLpOJ...n60yo1f8mpx7jI

And flash it via recovery!

Step 4 : Download XT1068 Modem FSG files

Glad to see that someone was kind enough to put up a proper guide thread
I hope I was able to help you earlier.

About root, I was looking for a solution, but unfortunately the only way to get root working is by flashing a modded kernel and then supersu zip. Chainfire did this for nexus and someone did this for Moto X 2014.

Unfortunately I don't know anything about modding kernel and we need someone who is able to do that, or else you get bootloop flashing root.

I did, results in bootloop and freezes in bootloader warning before bootanimation. The explanation of why is above (at least what I saw in research).

Because that would result in an endless bootloop. Already tried.
