LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9.0 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

What's working:
  • WiFi
  • Camera and Camcorder
  • Bluetooth
  • NFC
  • Fingerprint - Oreo firmware required
  • GPS
  • OTG
  • Video Playback
  • Audio
  • RIL
  • USB tethering & audio
  • FM Radio
  • Front flash
  • VoLTE

Known issues:
  • Encryption
  • SELinux: Permissive
  • You tell me

Installing this ROM:
1. Download the ROM, GApps (optional) and Magisk (optional) onto your Moto G5S. I recommend OpenGApps Nano or Pico.
2. Reboot into TWRP.
3. Wipe System, Vendor, Data, Cache and Dalvik/ART cache. You will lose all of your data!!!
4. Flash ROM, GApps (optional) and then Magisk (optional).
5. Reboot.
6. Profit!

Dirty flashing:
1. Download the ROM onto your Moto G5S.
2. Reboot into TWRP.
3. Flash ROM ZIP.
4. Reboot.
5. Profit!

Will you attempt to fix the camcorder? In all Pie roms I've tested so far the camcorder works very inconsistent, in all camera apps. Footej, gcam, moto camera, open camera all sometimes just break and stop saving the clips and require a reboot to work again. No problems in Oreo roms at all.

Hey, have you tried disabling C2API (which includes uninstalling some modules such as Pix3lify, etc.)? I've heard Camcorder works fine if you do disable it, but you will need to install a 3rd party camera app.
