I have just joined Telegram Group and asked for help.

I have rebooted several times, still can not get sim card to get recognized.

I installed ViperOS 6.3, no magistik , GApps 9.0 pico.

I was wondering if it is an issue related to Android 8.1(or higher) custom ROMs, because I tried Android 7.1 based custom ROMS with no issues.

I had also noticed the same sim card recognition issue with lineageos 15.1, but I had no issues with lineageos 14.1.

I appreciate any help you can give me

You will get good results using this Gapps: https://sourceforge.net/projects/vip...iperGApps/arm/

For sim issue, you can try clear your cache and dalvik at TWRP. Also is mandatory that your device are updated at the last bootloader, by ensuring that you have updated stock at last version released by Motorolla.

What is difference between Gapps packs from OpenGapps, and the Gapps at ViperOS repository?

Thanks

Bootloader is were you select what you want to boot. Recovery (TWRP), Normal Boot, etc.
The difference about gapps and ViperGapps its the configuration file, optimized for use on ViperOS.
