Yeah it has to be TWRP and latest version of TWRP otherwise you'll end up with some errors

I have not replaced the battery but did replace the motherboard on one nexus 6 which was Np at all, the battery will be even easier.

I've done it just yesterday. Not really difficult at all. Only problem I ran into was I ripped the wireless charging coil in half when opening the phone.. Luckily I found a new one online and everything is fine now.
Just find yourself a good youtube manual and you're good to go.

Don´t use opengapps, instead use BeansMini GApps https://goo.gl/TwQ8Zy

If you use open gapps, smallest package you can use is open gapps nano package.

Booted up, running great with no FC or issues that I quickly checked. Google Connectivity Services app showed up as a system app now, couldn't remember if I installed it or not. Will post again if any issues do pop up but I'd highly doubt there will be any....looks good to go.
