What exactly does encryption do that everyone hates it so much?

Nothing, I'm encrypted and I'm fine, people go non encrypted so they can be special little snowflakes.

Literally the only thing that improves is your read/write speed

Can anyone confirm for me. I literally JUST went back to RR From after flashing a couple Nougat Roms. Not a fan of substratum so cmte is all I'm waiting for.

Its cm based. No cm based ROMs have oms commits.

If you are unencrypted then it will wipe the phone clean both internal and external memory. In other words, you will lose everything on the phone unless you back up the data on a PC.

Substratum is an apk, so why wouldn't it work? Though if they have pushed any of the cmte commits, it will more than likely bootloop

Multirom currently requires unencrypted to run N Roms. The version that is being used for multirom does not support N's encryption.

I could see that as being a solid reason now then. So before N you stayed encrypted ?

You don't lose any data going from unencrypted to encryption..... You ONLY lose data if you go from encrypted to unencrypted or during the encryption process, it fails or device reboots during that process

Yes sir. I was using three M Roms with multirom, then I wanted to try N, so I had to backup internal media (~90 gigs of stuff in my case), and then I went unencrypted. Now I can run multiple N Roms.

It worked partly for me but installing android system part of the theme caused me a bootloop so now I have to clean flash all over again so I would advised no one to use substratum

You can just remove all items from system/vendor/overlay, while in twrp, and that will usually fix it....fyi. (this is true for OMS roms, hopefully the the same for CM Roms)

Well cm havent merged it yet so nope ,not yet. Will be merged soon. Our initial Plan was to make our first release with CMTE but unfortunately its taking longer than expected."

Just found this on Resurrection Remix Google+ page. SO anyone wondering. No it hasn't been implemented as of yet.
