Kernel is so good in battery life and my phone is not lagging but sometimes my phone reboots, any fix for that?

Yesterday I got one hour of SoT using only 25% of the battery and I was thrilled. Naptime was running in the background and underclocking CPU to 50% less. Performance was a bit laggy but I was fine.
Thank you sir for developing a ground-breaking kernel!

Is there a reason why "Underclock the CPU" under Battery Life Labs enables itself? I press "Restore" and it goes back to the "Applied" state even after restarting the app. Currently running the "Balanced" profile. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I'm very well aware of that. It still doesn't answer my question as to why it enables itself. My phone is speedy at times and sometimes it's greatly throttled. I go back to check and sure enough "Underclock the CPU' is enabled. Is this just part of how the "Balance" profile functions or is something else causing it?

hi, I have a problem with your sources. compiling the kernel for a Nexus 6p gives me an image.gz-dtb file. replacing it with the zImage file of your precompiled package does not start the phone. what procedure do you use to package in zImage? the make command does not allow it.

I think you're just thermal throttled.

The quick settings tile for the Night Mode in FKM is not very consistent. Sometimes I need to tap it twice for it to activate. Sometimes it takes too long to activate, so I press the tile again, so Night mode turns ON and turns OFF right after. Right now I have to open the app, so to Display Controls, then Night mode, and then finally turn it on or off. Too many steps.
Can you add an App Shortcut for Night Mode? Like the ones you have for Performance Profiles? Those would be immensely helpful.

Well the tiles aren't really synchronous, so it's not instant after tapping them. But they'll get activated.
App Shortcut for Night Mode, yup, sure thing!

...yes.

Random reboot occured today while the phone was in use on latest. Reflashing back to 68, seems like less effort has been put into bug testing recently

I put my 6P and 5X into a 24 hour long CPU stress test with random threads spawning at crazy rates and with some fake load going up and down. They passed the test. I know there are other crazy tests I can do but be sure to let me know :)

    Hi all.

    Compatibility:
It should work on any rom by following this logic:
Builds from r1 to r23 are Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow only (up until June's security patches)
Builds from r24 are for Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow only from July's security patch up to the r28.
Builds from r29 are for Android 7.0 Nougat.
Builds from r40 up to r49 are for Android 7.1.1 Nougat only.
Builds from r50 up to r55 are for Android 7.1.2 Nougat.
Builds from r56 up to r64 are for Android 8.0.0 Oreo.
Builds from r65 are for Android 8.1.0 Oreo.

    Download:
    https://francokernel.app

    Installation:
Flash the zip in your recovery
    or
Auto-flash from Franco Kernel Updater app

    Features:
    1 - Legendary battery life
    2 - Flash & forget
3 - Typical interfaces like display adjustments, sound control, vibration control, and all that boring stuff
4 - Bypasses the verified boot flag for Android Pay compatibility (root still breaks Android Pay but that's your own problem)
5 - Idle power consumption reduced to the absolute minimum (if you have wakelocks from 3rd party apps you're obviously on your own)
    6 - Support for FKUpdater's Performance Profiles
7 - Magical support, I'm here every day, checking posts almost hourly, ready to help anytime (well, unless you fail to read the OP, which contains most info you need)
8 - Seemless integration with my app FKUpdater
9 - No crap placebo patches, or "magical" optimizations
10 - Probably more, check my github for all the details - the code speaks for itself

    Kernel Manager for Franco Kernel

    Disclaimer to moderators:
Slight OT is fine, but when users decide to act stupid they should be dealt with with the appropriate means - its really annoying for me when OT turns crazy. Please put the warning/ban hammer anytime any of you think there's lack of respect and/or too much unwanted OT crap - but if it doesn't meet this criteria let the OT posts alone. Thank you.

    Cheers!

Now that Oreo is out I'll be starting FK from scratch (as I always do).

Expect at least 24-48 hours for a new build.

FKUpdater users from previous phones: support for this device will be added as soon as realistically possible.

My main focus on r1 release was to improve battery life as much as possible. I'm very happy with it.

If you want a detailed change-log check my git.

I'm sure you're going to love it.

    A little weekend treat: http://kernels.franco-lnx.net/Nexus6P/6.0/anyKernel/fk-r8-anykernel2.zip
You can flash that on top of any rom and it'll work :) I strongly suggest that, if you're using a custom rom, you "dirty flash" your rom package so that you get back the default boot.img and then flash this zip on top of it. If you're on stock I wouldn't worry, but if you want a pristine installation flash stock boot.img from the nexus images and then flash this zip.

Anyway, FKUpdater will be out sometime Monday/Tuesday supporting auto-flash of this new flashing method, so I'll hold off an official release of r8 until then, but you can go ahead and play with it, has lots of small changes (I won't bother you with the details). Enjoy and let me know how it works for you.
