Hi, this is my first time trying to install a custom rom. I am trying to upgrade from 5.1.1 to nougat. I don't know which platform, android or variant I should choose on the Gapps website. Also, can someone please send me the direct link to the crDroid download file ? Thank you

    First time installing crDroid to your Nexus 7 (2013), or coming from another ROM:
    - Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery (CWM or TWRP)
    - Copy GApps and crDroid zip to your external SDCard
    - Boot into Recovery
    - Wipe system,data and cache
    - Flash crDroid zip
    - Flash GApps zip
    - DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET
    - Reboot

    Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
    - Copy crDroid ZIP to your external SDCard
    - Boot into Recovery
    - Wipe system and cache
    - Flash crDroid zip
    - Flash Gapps
    - Reboot


    Don't expect any support if you:
    - are not running stock crDroid-kernel
    - have installed any mods such as Xposed!
    - have modified system files

    crDroid v3.5 for deb & flo is live and ready to go! Per our dev, neobuddy89:

    crdroid v3.5 is on the verge! And we're back with new update. I have seen lot of posts asking about Android O. Please have patience, we will switch to O once O is released publicly by Google and there is some LOS support available to begin with.

    v3.5 changelog:
    * July 2017 security patched in. (Android 7.1.2_r24)
    * Add toggle to remove dismiss icon in recents view.
    * Configurable long press delay in smartbar settings.
    * Toggle to display close button for longpress notifications.
    * Auto off torch configuration after longpress power button.
    * Fixes for livedisplay tile.
    * Refreshed all tiles.
    * Lots of minor fixes and optimizations.
    * Updated libraries for performance.

    crDroid v3.5 should roll out for supported devices this week! Cheers.

    crDroid 3.8.5 is live for deb/flo.

    Changelog: January security patch and any LOS changes between last release and this release. Nothing on the crDroid side has been changed and that will continue to be the case.

    I haven't had time to update the OTA yet, so if you're waiting for that, you might have to wait a little longer. :)

    As usual, dirty flash should be fine, but remember to always clean flash before reporting any problems.

    crDroid 3.7 Release Notes:

    Almost 3 weeks after releasing 3.6, here we are with 3.7! And while wrapping up to stabilize base and making way for Android O, we took a leap and added new features. Checkout changelog below.

    Short Changelog:
    * August security patched in! (Android-7.1.2_r29)
    * Fix battery drain for few devices.
    * Added new and shiny PIE from AOSPA
    * Added Pocket lock toggle from AOSPA
    * Added toggle to prevent accidental touch for navigational hardware keys.
    * Added toggle to prevent certain apps using significant motion sensor in order to improve battery life.
    * New icons for few stock apps. No more ugly green for messaging.
    * Updated music player and file manager apps.

    Note some devices have a bug where video recording errors when it tries to save 30fps video with Google Camera. That is being investigated, but we didn't want to hold back the August patch for it. 60fps with Google Camera seems ok and the included Snap Camera isn't affected.
