nAOSP-7.1 b02 released
Changes
  • Performance optimizations (thanks to @AndDiSa)
  • Switched to AndDiSa kernel
  • Removed PerformanceControl app
  • Fixed sim disconnect bug (tilapia version)

nAOSProm-7.1 b01 was pretty unusable because of performance and stabitily issues.
I've tried AndDiSa ROM and it seems to be much more stable and fluid.
I've used some of his performance optimizations and his kernel for this rom and created new builds. Rom still isn't perfect but it's much more stable/usable.

For better performance SuperSU + ParrotMod is recommended.

I have removed PerformanceControl app since it isn't working fine with the updated kernel.

These changes fixed sim disconnect bug after device sleep.

Playing YouTube videos works fine in b02.

Camera is working with HD Camera and Camera MX. Video recording doesn't work. I haven't tested hangounts/skype video calls.

I've applied your patches to nAOSP rom and camera is working fine, but hangouts calls are not working.
This is what I'm getting:
Code:

Do you have idea how to fix this?
I've also tried your latest build for tilapia, and hangouts video calls are working fine with it.

Hmm, I've no idea what might be the reason for that. Looks to me as if a codec is missing ...

Yeah, might be. I did diff for device_asus_grouper projects, media_profiles.xml files are different and you have libstagefrighthw source and I'm using prebuilt version from vendor/nvidia.
I'll change those things and rebuild project to see if that fixes it.

Thanks

Which gapps do you have?
I'm using open gapps pico 7.1, and don't have reboots.

Can you send me the logcat?

I'm also using Open Gapps pico 7.1. I have a logcat but it's like 20k lines long, do you want me to send it or is there another way to take a shorter one?

Btw, ViPER4Android is not working for me.
Driver status:
Driver Version: 2.3.4.0
NEON Enabled: No
Status: Abnormal
Audio Format: Unsupported
Processing: No
Sampling Rate: 0

Anyone else has this issue?

---------- Post added at 10:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:08 PM ----------

Play Store reboot issue probably has something to do with Google apps in general. I just installed Google pdf reader and Google Play Books. They both soft reboot whenever I try to open a pdf or a book. I can open the same pdf using Adobe Reader without any issue.
