Jealous? Geez relax dude, you'll get to 200 thanks eventually. Lol

Oh dear GOD I've made a mistake. I removed it, hopefully that will calm you down.

I did not mean to sound rude. I think it's ridiculous, that people say thank you to something, that's not even meant for the N9. They eventually flash something, that in the worst case, could even cause the tablet to some sort of malfunction. That's all. Sorry.

Flashed (did a dirty flash, without performing a factory reset),
I have no clue why you would do that then complain about what doesn't work.

i would like to try to get a root on preview 3, i failed at attempts on 1&2. it would be helpful to me [and i assume others] if someone could take the time to list the flash sequence along with any files needed other than the image from google. thank you!

    Point your Browser to https://developer.android.com/preview/download.html

    Download volantis-MPA44G-preview-7ff8343a.tgz

After the file has finished downloading extract the compressed tgz file. Once it has extracted, go in to the new folder and extract the image zip file that is located within the parent folder. Now go in to that folder and move all the .img files to the directory above it that contains the bootloader-flounder-3.48.0.0135.img.

Now you should have Six (6) .img files in the same folder. Move all those images to your Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder.

Extract ONLY image-new.img and move the img and zip files to your Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2317790

Put your device in bootloader mode by either running "adb reboot-bootloader" with the device plugged in to your PC or VOL DWN + PWR.

With your device plugged in and showing you the bootloader menu run the following Fastboot commands

    1.) fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-flounder-3.48.0.0135.img
2.) fastboot reboot-bootloader (Wait for device to come back online in bootloader)
    3.) fastboot flash boot boot.img
    4.) fastboot flash cache cache.img
    5.) fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
    6.) fastboot flash system system.img
    7.) fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
8.) If you want STOCK just type "fastboot reboot" continue to 9 if you want to root and custom recovery, etc.
    9.) fastboot flash boot image-new.img
    10.) fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.7.0-flounder.img
11.) fastboot reboot-bootloader wait for the device to reboot to bootloader
12.) Using the VOL keys and Power navigate to HBOOT menu on your device, press PWR, go to RECOVERY press PWR. TWRP should now load, once it shows TWRP swipe to the right to allow it to modify. Then in the menu tap INSTALL, continue to 13.
    13.) adb push ElementalX-N9-3.01.zip /sdcard/
    14.) adb push BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip /sdcard/
15.) Now on your device tap INSTALL
16.) Select ElementalX-N9-3.01.zip FIRST and INSTALL. If you don't know what you are doing just leave the default settings and keep tapping next.
    17.) Now INSTALL BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip
    18.) adb reboot

    You are done...

    Hi,

When to flash this? Does not change a running M build does it, need to be on a fresh install?

    Thanks for the guidance.

    Edwin

If you already have M installed and want root
Flash the .IMG in the bootloader
Then flash the supersu zip in recovery

If you want to be unencrypted format data in recovery
Only if you flashed my edited boot.img

    So
    fastboot flash boot name_of_image
    Reboot to recovery format data
    Reboot
    Download supersu zip
    Reboot to recovery
    Flash supersu zip
    Reboot
    =
    Awesome

It's here! Downloading it now and I'll flash it ASAP. Download link here, for those who want to give it a try:

    http://developer.android.com/preview/download.html

I'm also gonna throw it out there: if you don't know how to flash this image you probably shouldn't. This is a developer preview and you are likely to run into far more problems than you would with the current official release.
