i think that available ram depends also on how much app you have installed, not only rom...anyway now with today kang i have about 110mb free ram and i can tell you that cm9 is very stable and fast;)

531MB apps installed...I've removed a lot of games... only apps left...

When I multitasking in ICS, everything will be messed up due to low available memory... launch A app, go B and check C. And A is killed...

Is there anyway we can get the word google in the search bar back? Its a small thing but it would be awesome if someone knew how to :)

Anyone here can post running service? I just curious how many available Ram do you guys have usually.

this is mine and i also use lots of services in the background ( simiclock, poweramp, lwp, blacklist, swipe pad, currents updating, and u can see accuweather running in the notification bar...) and still there's decent amount of free RAM.
At first I was so obsessive about ICS Ram usage too, but after a couple of weeks (even on early builds) I felt that ICS is a better multitasker than GB, although it's more RAM intensive. I think its smarter in choosing which app to close and which app to send into cache and which app to keep in services.

I'm using swapper for root and fuzz ICS now. I'm trying to see any changes with swap enabled.

I installed this, but now the phone is terribly slow, it took hours to restore my activesync account while it usually completes in less than 1h!
Anyone else?

very strange because 'is usually' fast.
'cause you do not use titanium backup to restore your applications?
and 'much more' convenient and fast

I do use titanium, but for ActiveSync I occasionally prefeer to add the account manually, to perform a new sync.
How can I see what is killing my cpu?
Few moments ago it took 15s to expand a mail message in gmail. It's barely usable.

Also, the calendar widget is not showing full day appointments. :(

EDIT: checking with OS Monitor I find System and Android System which spikes to >60% cpu load pretty often, almost at every refresh!

Just like king23adrianc's CM7 Kang thread, here's one for CM9 Kangs.

Kangs are unofficial Cyanogen builds built by members of the community. They're not supported by the CM team at all, and in many cases aren't supported by the person who cooked the kang.

Kangs can contain features (cherry picks) that haven't been committed into the official nightlies, so you get some pretty cool cutting-edge features that aren't in the official rom. Sometimes these features get built-in to the official CM roms, sometimes they don't.

If you're not familiar with flashing roms, this probably isn't the place for you. Read up on it a bit, make yourself familiar with what you're doing and ALWAYS make a backup of your rom, in case something goes wrong.

For the latest kangs, start at the end of the thread.

To start, here's a link to the euroskank kangs for CM9:
