i flashed magisk. It worked. I now have root. This should somehow allow me to get an app that forces the system to take screenshots.

Here's how I did it. I copied the line from the /bootloader/ini/00-android.ini file into the hekate_ipl.ini

So my hekate_ipl.ini file looked like this

[config]
autoboot=0
autoboot_list=0
bootwait=3
verification=1
backlight=100
autohosoff=0
autonogc=1

[Switchroot Android]
payload=switchroot_android/coreboot.rom

Then I went into the options in hekate and turned on autoboot and was able to select Switchroot Android from that menu and saved changes. After that it autobooted for me on the next boot. Without doing the above mentioned changes nothing was listed in the autoboot section in the options menu.

Thanks! But there is one issue these joycons have all their buttons mirrored (they are acting like a ps3 controller of sorts) A btn= B B btn=A I can fix it via gamepad remapper but I have no idea how to make a flashable zip to put in the proper keylaout. I request if you can remap the buttons to normal HID/Xbox controls. Also the Dpad is detected as an Axis, this can be edited too, so that games like Rockstar games GTA max payne that support normal controls will detect analogs and dpad correctly.

Which gamepad remapper did you use? Would be awesome to remap the buttons.

Really rudimentary question from a very basic guy

When I connect my Switch to let's say my laptop, no drive pops up. Can this be done at all at this stage? Would be super convenient for transferring files from and to the Switch.

Cheers

Nope. Not sure why either. Dont even know what a 'PI USB to Serial' is, and it is what shows up when I connect mine. For now, best bet is FTP (with Bluetooth turned Off). It will take a while and you will have lots of Disconnects. Still early, so hopefully, there will be many improvements soon to come.

Thanks guys, I will have a look.

Yeah, no rush, just wondering, that's all. I am sure things will only improve over time, this is already really impressive stuff

Cheers!

Really great work on this guys, was not expecting this to run as well as it does for a first release. Having said that, for anyone with incredibly slow boot times and apps timing out, definitely look into upgrading to a U3 micro SD card. Evidently my old one was a U1 (and a terrible one at that), upgraded to a 128gb PNY U3 from Wal-Mart for like $23 and it's night/day difference.

its called gampad tester, you can remap and save a keylout for your system folder if you are rooted.

On another note
Joycons dont behave like analog sticks, more like digital pads this is even after joycon flashable zip. This can be tested in the gamepad app itself.

I am using the SANDISK Extreme® UHS-I, Micro-SDXC 128GB, which is supposed to be really good and I find performance on the Switch... OK. I am sure a lot of it comes down to further optimization, unless this card is actually known for being complete garbage?
