Just out of curiosity, are there any future plans for the development of Carbon lollipop for the l900? I've used most the lastest lollipop and kitkat roms but I always end up going back to the 11/06 carbon nightly. It's still my favorite rom by far and my next phone will be purchased based on if it's compatible with Carbon.
I don't believe so man. When I had the N2 and I was debating on going to the N4, my decision was made when this development ceased.

I've always wanted to compile a ROM so I might look into it. If you could point me in the right direction of some basic resources or guides that I could check out it would be much appreciated. I've created basic Java programs and I'm pretty good at troubleshooting (windows/android) if any of that matters.

Would you be able to tell me how time consuming it would be to maintain a nightly like Carbon for the l900?

Well first you want to have a linux os or mac (yuck). Dual boot is fine virtual box is not recommended. You will need at least 100 gigs of free space (more is always better). Compile times depend on your computer. I have a 6 core amd with 4gig ram and time for a clean build without ccache is around 3-4 hrs. Once a couple of builds are done a ccache is populated it takes around a hour.

As far as time spent maintaining it is almost nill once you are setup. You just sync and build. Setting up takes the most time. You will be downloading around 20+ gigs of data so depending on yoir internet it could take a hour or a day to download the source. Once source is downloaded updating (for nightlies/weeklies) does not take long.

To get a little info on compiling google "how to compile android on Ubuntu 14.04". Ubuntu would be recommended Os for beginners.

I have helped multiple xda members get setup. The more the better. If you decide to build we will talk more. Hit me up via pm or hangouts (Jlmancuso1134@gmail.com).

CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.

Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub. and on our Gerrit CarbonDev Gerrit.

We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.

Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.

While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.

    Support

We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:

    1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.

    2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ

    3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.

    4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

Alright we have carbon once again!!
    3
Flashed 6/10 nightly this mroning on a fresh install (wiped entire internal) with newest PA Gapps and have no mobile data. I did flash using Philz. Any ideas?

As it turns out, it seems Plasma Kernel a6 isn't playing nicely with 4.4.3. Beware everyone!

A6 does indeed work. I am using it now with 6/10 Carbon.

You MUST flash Plasma separately from the OS/GApps flash after fully booting into the ROM once. Otherwise you get the problem you see. The problem was introduced on Carbon builds starting 6/3 and is not exclusive to a6
