Why is there two set of instructions for installing Jasmine?
On the 1st page is says to follow these instructions:
★ Instructions:
• DOWNLOAD the latest version of JasmineROM
• CHECK MD5 checksum
• REBOOT into recovery mode
• BACKUP your ROM, kernel & recovery
• WIPE cache/dalvik/system/data
• FLASH JasmineROM ZIP
• WIPE cache/dalvik
• REBOOT to system
• WAIT for it to boot & optimize apps
• TUNE your ROM & kernel settings
But when you click to Download the file, it says to use these instructions:
Instructions:
• DOWNLOAD JasmineROM_v7.0_N910VVRU2CPF3.7z
• CHECK MD5 checksum
• DOWNLOAD N910VVRU2CPF3_PartialFirmware_PatechedKernel.tar.m d5.7z
• CHECK MD5 checksum
• EXTRACT and copy/move the ROM folder into TWRP backups
in your internal or external storage:
TWRP/BACKUPS/xxxxxxxx/JasmineROM_v7.0_N910VVRU2CPF3
where xxxxxxxx is your device serial number;
You'll find it if you made any backup via TWRP.
• REBOOT into TWRP recovery
• BACKUP your ROM, kernel & recovery
• WIPE cache/dalvik/system/data
• RESTORE JasmineROM_v7.0_N910VVRU2CPF3 backup
• WIPE cache/dalvik
• REBOOT to Download Mode
• FLASH the partial firmware via Odin
• REBOOT to system
• WAIT for it to boot (it may take a long time!)
The part that worries me the most is the 2nd set of instructions say I need to FLASH the partial firmware via Odin, while the 1st set doesn't mention this.
I have N910VVRU2CQL1_PartialFirmware_DevEd.tar.md5 running JasmineROM_v6.0_N910VVRU2CPD1 on my Note 4 currently. I would like to install v7 of Jasmine
