Why is there two set of instructions for installing Jasmine?

On the 1st page is says to follow these instructions:
Instructions:

• DOWNLOAD the latest version of JasmineROM
• CHECK MD5 checksum
• REBOOT into recovery mode
• BACKUP your ROM, kernel & recovery
• WIPE cache/dalvik/system/data
• FLASH JasmineROM ZIP
• WIPE cache/dalvik
• REBOOT to system
• WAIT for it to boot & optimize apps
• TUNE your ROM & kernel settings

But when you click to Download the file, it says to use these instructions:

Instructions:

• DOWNLOAD JasmineROM_v7.0_N910VVRU2CPF3.7z
• CHECK MD5 checksum
• DOWNLOAD N910VVRU2CPF3_PartialFirmware_PatechedKernel.tar.m d5.7z
• CHECK MD5 checksum
• EXTRACT and copy/move the ROM folder into TWRP backups
in your internal or external storage:
TWRP/BACKUPS/xxxxxxxx/JasmineROM_v7.0_N910VVRU2CPF3
where xxxxxxxx is your device serial number;
You'll find it if you made any backup via TWRP.
• REBOOT into TWRP recovery
• BACKUP your ROM, kernel & recovery
• WIPE cache/dalvik/system/data
• RESTORE JasmineROM_v7.0_N910VVRU2CPF3 backup
• WIPE cache/dalvik
• REBOOT to Download Mode
• FLASH the partial firmware via Odin
• REBOOT to system
• WAIT for it to boot (it may take a long time!)

The part that worries me the most is the 2nd set of instructions say I need to FLASH the partial firmware via Odin, while the 1st set doesn't mention this.
I have N910VVRU2CQL1_PartialFirmware_DevEd.tar.md5 running JasmineROM_v6.0_N910VVRU2CPD1 on my Note 4 currently. I would like to install v7 of Jasmine

From my understanding the first is if it is already unlocked and rooted and the second is part of instructions when unlocking bootloader and partial root, which i did the very first time unlocking and rooting. Correct me if i'm wrong.

I'm getting OTA alerts now on JasmineROM_v7.0-MMB29M.N910VVRu2CPF3. Does anybody know anything about this? Is it picking up on a Verizon update, or has this Jasmine ROM been updated?

i just finished loading JasmineROM_v.7.0_N910VVRU2CPD1 and booted everything fine at last. Verizon update just downloaded as soon as wifi was connected. Is this safe to run, is there an option to shut off OTA updates if it will undo root/twrp/jasmine?

I second this question here. As soon as I was done setting up Jasmine and wifi connected it downloaded but did not install
a update. I went to the learn more on the software update box and it took me to a website with some info on the update. I read in there it updates firmware from Jasmines (My current VRU2CPF3) to VRU2CQL1. I'm unsure of continuing with the update as it is from samsung. How do I go about disabling that if we should stay away from that update?

Thanks in advance

Im all about battery life. from a handful of roms that i have it seems android 5.1.1 gets better battery life than 6+ is that the same case here with this rom? does the older 4.3/5.1.1 version get better battery than the newer 7.0/6.01 version? i struggle to get 4 hours screen on time with most 6.01 roms but i can hit 5 hours on 5.1.1 , I hear some people boasting 7 hours sot with some roms but with the verizon note 4 variant and its limited kernel base i dont know if i can ever hit those numbers. Im using the stock battery.

    JasmineROM v7.0 Release [Jun 25, 2016]

This is an initial release of a close-to-stock Touchwiz ROM based on the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow (MMB29M.N910VVRU2CPF3). I may not be able to add features or Mods due to the limited time, but I wanted to keep JasmineROM's loyal users updated with a rooted 6.0.1 base + Xposed support and a new MultiSystem kernel, to fix the issues of old bootloaders. N910VVRU2CPF3 Partial Firmware + Patched Kernel (flash via Odin before the 1st boot) is required for this ROM. It includes NON-HLOS, modem, rpm, sbl1, sdi, tz, and a patched stock kernel (You don't need to flash the modem; it's already included!).

    Disclaimer:
The new N910VVRU2CPD1/PF3 bootloader is required for this ROM. Older bootloaders may run into issues. You need to follow the instructions here to upgrade and unlock bootloader.

This is a compressed TWRP backup, not a flashable ZIP !

    ChangeLog:
    • Initial Release based on MM 6.0.1 (N910VVRU2CPF3)
    • Rooted (SuperSU v2.74 preinstalled)
    • Xposed Framework v85.1 preinstalled
Xposed framework is preintsalled. You just need to install Xposed Instaler app. You may want to try the materialised version!
    • Patched stock kernel ramdisk and SEPolicy
    • Mitigated SELinux denials
    • Removed KNOX and related stuff
    • Replaced VZW bootanimation
    • S7 media/charger animations
    • 30 Quick Settings toggles
    • Enabled Call Recording
    • Enabled Call/Message Block
    • Enabled Floating Messages
Long press "Floating Messages" toggle to edit the settings!
    • Enabled S5 Toolbox
    • Busybox/rsync/bash/... etc
    • Fully loaded for personal debloating
    • Probably more...

This is an initial release of a close-to-stock Touchwiz ROM based on the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow (MMB29M.N910VVRU2CPD1). N910VVRU2CPD1 Modem (flash via Odin before the 1st boot) is required for this ROM.

    Disclaimer:
The new N910VVRU2CPD1 bootloader/bootchain and modem are required for this ROM. Older bootloaders may run into issues with WiFi driver. You need to upgrade to the new unlocked bootloader (not released yet!).

Workaround: Flash an older version of the MM kernel!

    JasmineROM v6.0 (MMB29M.N910VVRU2CPD1)

I will most likely update this ROM to Marshmallow 6.0.1 ASAP. The 1st release will be a very stable close-to-stock base. I'm not sure yet if I will be abe to push frequest updates for that base ROM since I will continue improving the AOSP-based builds that will allow us to move on to Android N soon, and future major Android updates later.
