Boeffla added a minimum brightness override setting that fixes the very dark screen on certain environments. It works wonderfully and really fixes the awful autobrightness of the op5.

Yeah I was wrong, there's no min_brightness in the backlight drivers. I'll merge his patch, thanks!

No, it's the app that is based on your performance profiles:

Ah yes I remember now.

Yeah doesn't make much sense for me to duplicate what I already have for years with another solution.

this app is interesting because you can switch mode in the control center.
What do you use similar to this?

Boeffla app has the gui for it, but it only works for boeffla kernel itself. You probably have to add the value in the configuration file itself in the system. In a few minutes I'll tell you were it is, I have to get a log from boeffla app to see exactly what it's doing.

EDIT: Ok, in boeffla, the min brightness value you have to change is in

/sys/module/mdss_fb/parameters/backlight_min

Franco now should also have that file. Edit it manually or, in a terminal app with root access, you could issue to test:

echo 'VALUE' > /sys/module/mdss_fb/parameters/backlight_min

where VALUE is the numerical value you desire between 0 and 255 (don't remove the ´ ´)
(In boeffla I have mine set to 25 and it's very acceptable.)
