Question: i changed Kernel to CleanSlate v1.77... speaks anything against changing over to a custom Kernel?

I recommend CleanSlate kernel

If you install the full rom zip, magisk is already applied to the boot.img, but you'll need to install magisk manager manually (will fix this next release)

ok, but forgive my ignorance, if I'm already on stock rom with magisk installed, why would I want to install the magisk module?

Are you saying that the magisk module you refer to installing changes the rom from stock to your rom?

Edit: I like the look of this rom as it seems like a no bulls**t project (no gimmicks and "placebo" promises)

Yep, it's a very healthy solution, as you can still keep your system intact this way, just overlaying with magisk.
And it does all the stuff that the full rom flash would do.
I'm using it just like that and everything is working like it should
