First of all I apologize for my bad English

Remember that you have to have the bootloader unlocked to make this process

    We started;

    1 - DOWNLOAD THIS FILE
    Oficial EGTV - http://bit.ly/OficialROOTP9EGTV
    -
    Mirror - http://bit.ly/Mirror2ROOTp9

2 - Put the phone in fastboot mode
    • Power off device
    • Press the volume button down and keep
    • USB connected to the computer, connect the phone, hold the volume down

    3- INSTALL TWRP
    Open folder 1
Doble click in windows the .bat file.

    4- INSTALL SUPER SU
    Open FOLDER 2
Take the .zip in the Micro SD or USB OTG (Internal memory TWRP not mounted)
Enter TWRP turning off the device, turn it on by pressing volume up
    Press install
    Search the .ZIP file SuperSU

    Sorry my bad English

Sorry to hear that. I will give you access to the TWRP backup of my own unmodified original boot image (not out of the stock ROM package).

You have to use TWRP's Restore obviously ;) - this is the same image l restored every time needed.

    Cheers!

Edit: I will PM the link to you!

Yea - the boot image you uploaded is corrupted (Huawei Update Extractor doesn't work with the latest N builds). Here's a stock b378 L09 boot image I extracted: https://mega.nz/#!v1RGRSzD!7Z9oKmvEbZHG9UGwxh-iCR_tEw2qjVJ2tHkb1mFSTLk

@hakaz great work on SuperSu - just installed (with JRummy's BusyBox too) and it works great, finally :)

I want to reroot because Atarii's prerooted boot image uses phh's superuser which does not work with well with all of the applications Like SuperSU does. Some do not recognise that you are rooted at all thus not asking for root privileges.

There are issues in the Huawei kernel, read
    https://xdaforums.com/p9/development/root-pre-rooted-boot-img-p9-nougat-b378-t3574548

Btw, I just followed that procedure and I have successfully rooted my Huawei P9, L09, with c432 b378.
By testing so far, AdAway, Titanium and Reboot app (you can choose to boot into TWRP or fastboot), they all work just fine with this phh's SuperUser

PS: BusyBox is also Ok with phh's SuperUser but I cannot make Viper4Android (v2.5.0.5) working, it fails to install drivers complaining that Android is not rooted.

would it be also possible to just boot the twrp (fastboot boot twrp.img) instead on flashing it? for rooting with supersu it should be enough to flash it once with a bootet twrp and the original recovery would be intact. this would be better for OTAs so we don`t have to revert every time to stock recovery.
also interesting would be the fastboot commad to backup the original recovery (and maybe the other partitions too)!

edit: just booting twrp does not work, you have to flash it.

what do we have to do for a OTA update? unroot with supersu and flash back stock recovery?

    Worked perfect. Thanks.

This thread needs reworking. I went through all posts in this thread and instead of being guided, I just feel more confused.

I was lost also for a minute. But the fastest way i just did it was follow this guide and stop at the 7 min mark:

Then follow djeloy's instructions in this form on the first page:

    4- INSTALL SUPER SU
    Open FOLDER 2
Take the .zip in the Micro SD or USB OTG (Internal memory TWRP not mounted)
Enter TWRP turning off the device, turn it on by pressing volume up
    Press install
    Search the .ZIP file SuperSU

    NOTE:
2 reboots after installing the SuperSU
TWRP mini bug No internal memory detected
FOLDER 3 IS INSTALL RECOVERY STOCK - EVA-L09 MODEL
