Not bad? And the battery saver came on only at 5%.

Looks good. Die you restrict the apps yourself?
In my case only the xda app is restricted because the adaptive battery feature suggested it

Yes I actually did restrict a bunch of the ones that aren't like social media apps or email/msg apps.

I was going to ask someone too please look at your apps, please look at "setting suggestions" and tell me if that app is restricted by default or not please.. I installed AccuBattery last night and it was telling me setting suggestions is using a crazy amount of battery so I unrestricted it and now it seems fine.

Because the 3a uses a less power hungry processor and has a larger battery.
