This requires an unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery like OrangeFox.

Even better is mi-globe, which uses miui.eu rom as the base and allows you to customize whats included or removed in it before flashing.

Other option is to use Fastboot tools that allows to remove several (or freeze) apps in the rom: I used it with no issues

Came here from aosp, just to try out the latest 20.3.26 develop EU rom .Everything went fine., until that moment that booted into the rom for 1st time and i couldn't log in into mi account ....No matter if i was succesfully done the log in via pc ...
I tried to put my pass via phone with several reboots to do it once again,, but couldnt recognize me as a poor mi accounter ..that Mi server sucks..
I changed three times my pass via pc and verified my account once again ... BUT ,,My device just refused to be verified from Xiaomi ..
Then returned back to aosp and my head is peaceful again .What a bloody server

I had this problem. I think it was for pass aosp to miui rom.
I solved with last orange recovery, all wipes and format data (type "yes"). My data was decrypted, but only fix formatting data. Your data will be erase.

I done full wipe including internal storage, and done some researches too, and I found out that this happens when I restore data from Google and Xiaomi Cloud, at least in my case... so full wipe didn't fix it actually, thanks anyway.
