Most recent and easiest way to root the epic?

I was wondering does anyone have the most recent tutorial on how to root/ install a recovery on this phone? Thank you for any effort.

Not sure about most recent, but try Framaroot v1.6.1.apk. It worked for me on FC09 a while back.
