    Wipe in cwmr does not clear internal storage, for that you need to format internal SD. Once on safe kernel you can easily format sd and there is no risk in it. Just format it in settings/storage but make sure to move required files to external sd (like pics or music) Sent from my GT-N7000

    You are on custom rom so flash GB firmware, so that you can wipe safely after flash (wipe after flash is required in most of the cases).

    Are you on stock kernel? If so then flash some safe kernel and try full wipe, if that too doesn't help, then flash stock firmware using pc odin. I am assuming you are on ICS, as you didn't provide any info. You should have mentioned the method used for root and everything.

    just flash a safe kernel (I assume you already did) and do a nandroid backup, that's all. You can later restore the same backup. (You can use the same kernel to restore which was used while backup as suggested by some experienced users)

    You are already on a safe kernel (Speedmod k-13) so no need to flash GB rom or Abyss kernel, just boot in cwmr, perform full wipe and flash PA rom zip followed by gapps accordingly,

    Yes, ideally it will. basically it's like flashing a different rom, I have seen few developers distributing their roms as nandroid backup.

    I haven't tested it on Note but I have tried it on my ealier phones (X10i, Optimus 2X , Desire) and it always worked fine. Restoring backup will change the kernel too (the one included in backup).

    First of all, you are on stock ICS so do not perform wipe again, it will brick your note (do some reading first) Wipe does not remove system apps or games, that's why you still have those apps/games after wipe. Your idea of flashing GB rom and then ics is good, download GB firmware from here...

    You should have read the rom OP before flashing it. Anyways, now do not flash stock ICS directly, first flash stock GB and then update to ICS. Download GB firmware from here and check the instructions in same thread to use pc odin to flash.

    If no custom kernel then simply flash"complete unroot" file and un-rooting will not wipe your phone.

    If you are on a custom kernel then flash stock kernel first of all and then flash the "complete unroot" file in recovery from this thread. You can also flash stock firmware using pc odin to return to stock.

    You can restore apps without any problem (except system apps), You can try restoring apps downloaded from Google play with data and if you get FCs then delete data and it will be fine. I always restore few apps along with data like opera mobile etc and haven't seen any problem so far.

    Yes, you can flash CM9 rom with philz kernel on stock ICS rom, enter cwmr , perform full wipe and flash it in cwmr only, download mode is for odin, not for flashing cm roms :D

    latest is LRT after LRQ. For official JB check this and this. unofficial JB roms are good and worth using but still have some bugs though.

    I mentioned GB, so that you can safely wipe if required, you cannot do it on stock ICS roms because of the brick bug, check this. You will be on stock ICS kernel when you update to official ICS rom either via kies, OTA or pc odin and havent changed the kernel to some safe custom kernel yet...

    Philz kernel is almost stock and is for tw ics roms only. If you want to flash cm rom then it doesnt matters what kernel you are on before flashing cm rom as the kernel will be replaced after flashing the rom, all you need is a safe kernel while flashing, no matter which one.     I read somewhere that all firmwares in dr.ketan's thread are non wipe, I am not sure if it was for ICS only or for both, check with Dr.ketan about it.

    It depends, if you choose wipe version then it will wipe everything and if it is a non-wipe rom then everything will remain intact :D Best is to backup all apps/data using titanium backup and then flash the rom.
