Have you unlocked your bootloader? The kernel only works for unlocked bootloader use the following command to make sure fastboot can detect your phone correctly. fastboot devices If it returns blank, re-install fastboot driver using flashtool.

I'm not very sure but I think more work needs to be done for Ion. You don't need unlocked bootloader but you need to have rooted rom with cwm installed.

This is the kernel used for firmware 6.1.A.2.45 I'd assume you should already use 2.45 firmware. If not you can use PC Companion to update or download from forum and flash it with flashtool

I don't play games so I'm not very sure. But the kernel do support hw acceleration (on my dxrom using the same kernel everything is working). I think it's some miui libs that cause the hw video playback not working ... remove / rename the file bootaudio.mp3 in /system/media folder.
