You have to pull boot.img from your existing/current/rooted ROM., via adb. So you won't lost your root after flashing new boot.img because you only replace newly compiled image.gz-dtb inside of your current boot.img.

Did you do "Format Data" in TWRP? It is a 'must' when you are from MIUI if you're going to install any custom rom Before 'Advanced Wipe', do click "Format Data". tyep "Yes".., this will format all entire data (including internal storage/media, and encryption) Make sure you have SD card or USB...

What TWRP you installed? What TWRP version? Did you clean flash? Did you wipe /system, data, dalvik/cache/..?

Not need to re-flash twrp. The TWRP recovery will stick (i.e., it will replace stock recovery)
