Post assembly problem: gap between screen and case

Mine also has a very subtle gap on the top left side (where the camera is), which you have to squint in order to see. I bothers me because I know it's there, but I would probably not have noticed it if it wasn't for this thread. I don't feel it affects the functionality or the waterproofing, at...

Post assembly problem: gap between screen and case

That dust buildup I can see in some pictures would drive me crazy. It's a shame, because it's a decent phone otherwise.

Post assembly problem: gap between screen and case

Maybe I did not phrase correctly. What I meant was whether the display is somehow elevated and the sheet can be fit (a) "in parallel" from the side or (b) perpendicularly from above the display. For me, it is the second.

Post assembly problem: gap between screen and case

Hmm, is the gap facing upwards or sideways? In my 2 XL I can barely fit a sheet of paper upwards, but not sideways.

Post assembly problem: gap between screen and case

Quick question, even if the gap is uniform, doesn't it collect dust in between? IMHO there should be no gap, my Pixel 2 XL has absolutely no gap. (I haven't seen the P5, but I think that the design is somehow similar)

Post How I fixed my battery life [Calibration][NoRoot]

Well, I live in Switzerland and the whole process was handled by the store from where I had bought the device (Digitec, they are pretty awesome in the service aspect). Since I was under warranty I did not have to pay. After they changed the battery, AccuBattery showed 99%.

Yeah maybe Q&A is a better location for this thread. But for what it's worth, I keep going back and forth Gboard and SwiftKey. The first has better suggestions, but the second has better multi-language support (because it groups multiple languages with the same layout into one layout).

    Post HTC 10 updates thread

If a company says that they support a device for 2 years, it should be 2 years. The 10 was supported for 1 year and 7 months, since the last update was on December 2017, at least on WWE. They should at least release a last, bug-fix updated, including the latest security patch. No one would...

You actually only have to do that when downgrading from Oreo to Nougat, so that your SIM card is recognised. In any case I suppose it would not hurt to try it. You just reboot to bootloader, connect your phone via USB and execute the command as is, no adb. Note: This is supposed to work, I...

If you have never upgraded to HTC Oreo, then this is indeed weird. You can check whether you have FUSED status in download mode. If yes, then you have upgraded to Oreo and maybe you need to downgrade. In any case, I suppose that a clean Nougat RUU is not a bad idea.

Isn't there a way to make it silent by default (on the programmer side)? If there is (which I think it is true), then HTC should have been more careful before releasing. Anyway, that is minor. Per-app notif. sounds is a decent deal though, let's hope someone from HTC listens (laugh with me)...

    Post HTC 10 updates thread

Messed-up notifications are the only problem IMO. It's not only that you cannot change the sound per-app, it's also the general behaviour that gives away a very bad implementation. E.g. the night mode notification triggers a sound out of nowhere, whereas in Nougat it was silent. This is also...
