Post Question Blocking text messages as spam that orginates from Email source

Because they suck lol. They charged me $40 because I bought a new phone from Samsung and activated it. I'll just stick with swapping sim cards next time. There are more options with the paid service but that's all I need anyway. Hopefully that did it for you.

Post Question Blocking text messages as spam that orginates from Email source

I'm on Verizon unlimited and I can block email messages for free. I forgot exactly where but if ypu log in to your account from a pc there are blocking options for this in your device settings.

Post General ***Beware*** New AT&T S21 Ultras

You would need to use the paid service to unlock yours. Don't take any updates if you are interested but I would weigh out the pros and cons already mentioned before you make a decision. The people involved with the unlock are very helpful.

Post General ***Beware*** New AT&T S21 Ultras

I agree, this is why I traded in two rooted Samsung phones. Not being able to fully update without loosing the unlock killed it for me. Thankfully I didn't loose all that much cash with the trade ins. I'm perfectly fine with my unrooted S21 Ultra and ADB. I won't root again unless it's a Pixel.

Post Rick's Rom DUB5 SM-N986U1 Snapdragon Safe Update To One UI 3.1

Pausing ROM builds due to Samsung's trickery. Sorry. Some things need to be worked out. If you flashed my DUC1 rom you will need to stay with the DUC1 modem if you downgrade back to One Ui 3.0. DO NOT flash the full DUC1 firmware or you will loose your bl unlock.

Post Rick's Rom DUB5 SM-N986U1 Snapdragon Safe Update To One UI 3.1

Great I'm glad that worked. I'm pretty sure it can be added to the rom but I don't know what files need to be edited. Now if a debloat script could be added to the AIO file that would be the cat's meow.

Post Rick's Rom DUB5 SM-N986U1 Snapdragon Safe Update To One UI 3.1

Yes, for safetynet I use userdata AIO files from here. I use the no wipe no bl one even though it says for the u model only. I think all it does is patch keystore because I have the other mods already in the rom.

Post Rick's Rom DUB5 SM-N986U1 Snapdragon Safe Update To One UI 3.1

Same instructions as the OP besides the wipe data part. I included the home csc that doesn't wipe data and have twrp in this build to make things easier. The only thing you will need to do is install magisk again after the rom. I will try and keep this so a data wipe is optional from now on.

No, none at all and this is most likely the last build of this rom. I only own a Note 20 Ultra now.

I've updated the rom to DUC1 March update. DO NOT flash the bl files from the full DUC1 firmware or you will loose your bootloader unlock and will not be able to downgrade. My rom is safe to flash. Enjoy. https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=2188818919693753114

I've added a new build that allows more google apps to be uninstalled and removed the system updater. The Note series just released a update with a bootloader revision jump to kill root so I highly suggest you either download the rom update or run the command below to disable the ota updater...

Post Rick's Rom DUB5 SM-N986U1 Snapdragon Safe Update To One UI 3.1

I added a new build that you can uninstall more Google apps and removed the system updater. There is a new build (DUC1) that came out today that updated the bootloader to rev 2. DO NOT take it if you want root!! If you just want to disable the ota updater without downloading and re-installing...

Try using the entire AP file or the full firmware zip in kitchen to unpack them. Without a specific error I would guess the img files are not the correct size.

Post Rick's Rom DUB5 SM-N986U1 Snapdragon Safe Update To One UI 3.1

Yes, Install the rom first then after it boots shut down the phone and enter download and flash the AIO file in userdata. Don't even bother with setup after the first install of my rom because the AIO file will probably wipe data.

Post Rick's Rom DUB5 SM-N986U1 Snapdragon Safe Update To One UI 3.1

Thanks, I just prefer the U1 software. I made this rom to keep things simple each month with updating. I also run this after I install the rom even though I added some of the mods already. I use the force wipe with no bl files one and restore my data after it's done.

Post Rick's Rom DUB7 SM-G986U1 Safe Update To One UI 3.1

With this rom, no. I used CUA2 for the bl files and everything else DUB7. I did flash the bl files on accident a few times though.

Post Rick's Rom DUB5 SM-N986U1 Snapdragon Safe Update To One UI 3.1

I prefer U1 to the Verizon bloat. I don't use hotspot, 5G works fine as well as wifi calling on my phone with Verizon. Been using U1 for years. EDIT: Please compare roms in the Q&A section in the future.

Post Rick's Rom DUB7 SM-G986U1 Safe Update To One UI 3.1

I've updated the rom to Ui3.1 and all seems good. This will wipe data with the included csc but you can use the home csc from the DUB7 full firmware if you do not want to. I did not include the home csc so that's up to you. I will be trading this phone in soon but should be able to keep this...

Post Rick's Rom DUB5 SM-N986U1 Snapdragon Safe Update To One UI 3.1

I've added one more build that addresses the missing Galaxy Store app. The app might crash a few times before it opens but keep trying until it opens if it dose that. It was fine on the Note 20 but it was fussy with the S20. This is a problem with the app itself and not something I created. Any...

Good, that should be the only problem. I used to update that through Galaxy Store. I just made a new build and will be uploading it shortly. The game launcher crash will probably be there until it's updated through the store but all is good with that.

Disable game launcher in the settings menu for now. I accidentally removed it using a debloat script when I was building the rom. I'll have to add it back on the next build. Galaxy store gave me problems before on the first run. I would try a different version for now.

Just revert back to CUA1 and you will be unlocked again. If you flash the full firmware flash this with it and you will be all set but either way you need to go back to stock CUA1 first and start over.

I've updated the ROM to 3.1. If there are any problems let me know. I'm not using the Note as my daily driver anymore so between that and the 3.1 update it was a bit more challenging this round. I added TWRP again to make things easier for everyone.

Just follow the instructions in the op or zip file and you should be fine. You do not need to flash multidisabler or vbmeta, they are already in the rom. Backup, install the rom, wipe data and reboot. Complete set up and then reboot to install recovery and root.

Root wasn't the main reason but it did add to my decision. I ordered the phone not expecting root. I prefer the display and storage options on the Note and yes root. Plus with rumors of this being the last Note series along with the spen support on the 21 swayed me even more to return it. No...

I don't think so but I'm really not sure, I haven't looked into it. The big deal for me is downloading more firmware, keeping track of more files, storage space and time. Honestly it's pretty simple to build your own. You can get all the info you need for that here .

I returned my S21 Ultra and picked up a Note 20 Ultra instead. The lack of SD card and no root yet killed it for me. The camera is a little better at zoom and macro shots on the S21 but that's about it. I got the Note and had the bootloader unlocked the next morning.
