Post Magisk General Support / Discussion

OK, one more update even though I am conversing with myself. However, someone may run into the post while trying to solve similar problems. Advice to go to device specific forums does not work for older less popular devices as such forums dry out with time. I managed to resurrect both Z2 Play...

Post Magisk General Support / Discussion

Update: It appears that Magisk was not updated for a while on both phones, so the problem could be tied to an earlier Magisk update than just the very recent. Since I have access to TWRP on both phones, I guess I should flash an earlier version of Magisk from a zip, right? It seems that the...

Post Magisk General Support / Discussion

I do not know who yo turn to with this, but I have second Moto Z2 Play phone that does not boot after the last update to Magisk. Both phones worked for several years rooted. The symptom is that the phone just does not start with the Power Button pressed. The boot into Bootloader/recovery...

Post Remove /Bypass Lockscreen With Recovery

I had to go back to an old phone with Android 7.1.1 and already got into the third day of trying different lock patterns to open. I only remembered that the pattern was completely trivial . This method saved my sanity. Thank you, thank you!

Post [APP][1.6+] SD Maid - System cleaning tool

The tweaked version of SD Maid concluded successfully within minutes, finding 278 corpses. Upon their removal I am able to proceed with reinstallations :)

Post [APP][1.6+] SD Maid - System cleaning tool

I tried SD Maid's System Cleaner before, but it did not help - it did not remove the corpses. In settings/apps I see the grayed out corpses and if I remove an app there it can be thereafter reinstalled so while it is still a bit tedious, it can be done within a finite time. Thanks! I did...

Post [APP][1.6+] SD Maid - System cleaning tool

OK, it seems that only the corpse in /data/data matters for the success of reinstallation. That certainly speeds up the manual process :good:

Post [APP][1.6+] SD Maid - System cleaning tool

Yes, I use these periodically, but these don't touch the left-over files in /data. In fact, I looked around and could not find any other app around with that corpse function.

Post [APP][1.6+] SD Maid - System cleaning tool

That was the number of apps linked under LINK2SD. When I try to restore them, in 90% of cases the installation fails due to "insufficient storage". (There is plenty of space.) After I find the corpses an delete them, the installation goes forward. In my experience I only need to locate those...

Post [APP][1.6+] SD Maid - System cleaning tool

Finding Corpses Takes Forever I am in a situation of about 300 corpses. In finding them SD Maid runs for 12h+ without conclusion. Any suggestions for a resolution? Background: This is a small phone, Xperia Tipo Dual, running Android 4.0.4. I squeeze numerous apps into the phone using...

    Post [MOD][XPOSED][2.3+][2015-04-09] Xposed Additions

OK, I installed 3.2.2 again and can list all the problems for the rotations: a) no difference between Orientation Right and Left b) first click rotates in one direction, next does nothing, third goes back. Sometimes the action goes into some state of nowhere, see in particular next c) every...

    Post [MOD][XPOSED][2.3+][2015-04-09] Xposed Additions

Broken rotations in version 3 One of my main uses of Xposed Additions is for predictable rotations of the screen. On my Xperia Tipo Dual, stock/Android 4.0.4, I use the extra key there for switching SIM, not very useful in practice in its original function, to accomplish the rotations: long...

    Post [Xposed][MOD][4.0+]Advanced Power Menu (w/ Anti-theft helper)

For a try I installed the version 9.1.4 and it works, i.e. the advanced menu shows fine. Obviously, I have even far less chance to understand why it works as compared to 9.1.2/3.

    Post [XPOSED] SystemUI Patcher

I tried to tweak the status bar of my Xperia Tipo Dual, stock ROM, Android 4.0.4, with SystemUI Patcher, but no banana even with several reboots. As a positive, the module did not bring the phone down. It is then uninstall :(.

    Post [Xposed][MOD][4.0+]Advanced Power Menu (w/ Anti-theft helper)

I do not use the anti-theft option, so the "Remove volume state..." option is greyed out. I do not use the lockscreen either. I send you the bulky log over a private message.

    Post [Xposed][MOD][4.0+]Advanced Power Menu (w/ Anti-theft helper)

Same for me on Xperia Tipo Dual, stock ROM & Android 4.0.4. I also went back to 9.0.1 to have it working.

    Post [MOD][XPOSED][4.0+] XuiMod v2.3

Thanks, I realized that, but only after the rounds of restoration. With my ROM I need to flash a zip to enable the Framework, but for a while I did not connect the fact that the disable zip there is useful too. By the way, on my phone (Xperia Tipo Dual/Android 4.0.4), the font reduction for...

    Post [MOD][XPOSED][4.0+] XuiMod v2.3

Reboot Loop Gone Upon updating Xposed and a few Xposed modules last Friday, my phone became quite unstable, with the most serious outcome being a reboot loop. I recovered using a Nandroid backup, but a second round of Xposed updates on Saturday resulted in the same. Upon consultations...

    Post [APP][4.0.3+ & GB][XPOSED] BootManager

OK, after I disabled XuiMod, error messages disappeared. Wiping data did not help. Reactivated XuiMode still gave rise to the errors, so I disabled it for good. After a full backup, I updated and activated BootManager to 2.0.7, all under Xposed 2.6, and now it works. Thanks a lot for the help.

    Post [APP][4.0.3+ & GB][XPOSED] BootManager

OK, this becomes clearer and clearer. Indeed, I have a set of messages repeating themselves with that particular error, making the log file very very long. The module that these seem to be associated with is XuiMod, though XposedBridge is mentioned there too. I suppose I should disable XuiMod...

    Post [APP][4.0.3+ & GB][XPOSED] BootManager

BootManager 2.0.5 is active and works fine with Xposed 2.6. I look at the log, but the only info I have is since the tonight's nightly reboot. One problem is that after the reboot loop I need to do a full-scale restoration from a backup, so I am not sure any log can survive that. Maybe I can...

    Post [APP][4.0.3+ & GB][XPOSED] BootManager

Let's see, I only looked at the version backwards and first suspected another, newly installed Xposed module, and even Xposed installer, to be the culprit. However, by the second day I isolated the issue to be that of the Manager. Maybe the update times could be of help. The first time I went...

    Post [APP][4.0.3+ & GB][XPOSED] BootManager

Reboot Tailspin After updating BootManager from 2.0.5 to 2.0.7, my Xperia Tipo Dual w/Android 4.0.4, went into a reboot tailspin. This happened already under two attempts, separated with a restoration from Nandroid backup. There is always a chance that something else might matter, but I post...

    Post [XPOSED][APP][4.0+] Performance Profile

Yes, 1.7. My need is to prioritize the dialer and a couple of apps that I use to navigate around the phone. There is nothing more frustrating than being unable to make a phone call with the phone, because the system considers other tasks to be more important. The fact that the priority boost...

    Post [XPOSED][APP][4.0+] Performance Profile

Pullback: It looks that the reboot tailspin was caused by a bad update of BootManager that I picked up on the way in the Xposed Framework downloads. I activated Performance Profile again, am getting some of the "stopped working" for the Profile, but this alone is tolerable. WiFi seems stable...

    Post [XPOSED][APP][4.0+] Performance Profile

OK, i had the misfortune to try again. I pondered whether my priority boosts were too aggressive. I reduced them, enabled the Profile again and now the phone (Xperia Tipo Dual/Android 4.0.4) went into a reboot tailspin. It ended up with a Nandroid backup restore and I spent much of the last...

Post [Q] Tasker "Take Call" on Xperia Tipo

Solved OK, I can answer my own question. Both "Take Call" of Tasker and "Answer Call" of Secure Settings work on Xperia Tipo. My problem appeared to be in trigger collisions combined with simultaneous execution of tasks I thought of being carried out in sequence. After I explicitly paced the...

Thread [Q] Tasker "Take Call" on Xperia Tipo

I am trying to write a Tasker script allowing to take a call on Xperia Tipo by shaking the phone or by proximity to the ear. However, I have no luck arriving at the desired action from the Tasker task "Take Call". The only time the call is actually properly taken is when the triggering event...
