    1) There is no UI for ethernet in Android Just use DHCP or Google how to configure 2) It's AOSP license and some parts are GPL so it's pretty clear

So I can only assume why you even have a thread on XDA then You just use this as a PR platform but not as a way to support developers and help others to gain the same knowledge that you have "XDA Developers was founded by developers, for developers. It is now a valuable resource for people who...

Post OmniROM Android R (11) for Pi 4

Nice - thanks - buit thats not 17.1 and 18.0 and also not rpi4 So still nobody can see what you actually include in the builds you share So why you refuse to help people educate themselves and allowing them to create their own builds to empower the developer base. Cause this is what we all want...

BTW please drop me a note once you pushed your actual sources cause I am busy helping and educating folks here how they can build on their own. Cause THIS embraces the power of XDA way more then what you do

Post OmniROM Android R (11) for Pi 4

#boring and not worth my time but you seem to have more then enough time so just go on and educate us And then share your device tree so we can see if you did credits there correctly

There is no turn off screen - it will just blank VNC is WiFi only
  10. M

Post OmniROM Android R (11) for Pi 4

The device tree is the most important part - and you dont share that You must share kernel - so you dont have any choices there :) And I do Android longer then LOST even exists - so nice try but dont try to educate me about that :) And I will always give credit where credit is due - but its...

I you mean with "HDMI settings" those lines in config.txt then I can tell you that they dont work with drm mode Can you try on any other monitor if this behaviour is specific to that monitor

LOST ist a well known term - but if you cant get the joke I cant help you Dont start the blame game here - this leads to norhing You dont even share your device tree so nobody knows what you are doing anyway So you are just pissed that now everyone can build on its own You even said once was...

  18. M

Post OmniROM Android R (11) for Pi 4

To repeat - with my builds and Omni in general there will NEVER be root on the device without an adb root shell. You can switch to Konstas LOST builds if you rely on that It will boot from a 500mA USB but you can run into issues since it can draw more So the REAL solution is to use a powered...

Well - I can really use that info - and I am too lazy to read up myself I need the CONFIG_xxx changes that you need in defconfig Get me a list of those please
  20. M

Post OmniROM Android R (11) for Pi 4

You did not read the README! (line 45 AND again 110) Do it now then its clear what you do wrong -> success BTW: if you change USB mode you disable USB adb - just saying

Ok I have to agree - google play movies really dont work with microG But I am an amazon prime guy so I dont really care :)

You now just talk nonsense because you cant accept that you made a mistake
  23. M

Post OmniROM Android R (11) for Pi 4

If you do the proper microG setup with your account - also YouTube will work fine As most other Google services - pretty sure also Google Play Movies worked last time I tried

It will miss built kernel modules for e.g. other wifi hardware then the built in brcmfmac But if you tell me what additional kernel modules you need I can include in future builds Check kernel at https://github.com/maxwen/android_kernel_brcm_arpi/tree/android-11-5.4-lts You can have everything...

I dont see any reason why not - its standard HDMI and if USB touch work in linux it will also work in Android 1920x1080 is just the upper limit what the GPU can drive You might face issues if you try to play videos in 1080p - 720dp is what works reliable for me

Post OmniROM Android R (11) for Pi 4

All depends on the v3d progress For the forseeable future you can only use external USB camera apps https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shenyaocn.android.usbcamera

You really think it makes sense to show 4 lines the same??? The cores are synced so all will use the same frequency So I explicitly set it to only show one line #brainon please :) If you wear a tinfoil hat then check yourself in cpufreq sysfs what cores are active And no performnace is not...

Post OmniROM Android R (11) for Pi 4

Running power over normal USB port that can provide "by standard" 500mA is possible but you might see issues based on the fact that the pi can draw more then that. I use a powered USB hub and that works just fine so I always recommend getting one for any kind of Android work which always uses...

Post OmniROM Android R (11) for Pi 4

So what I can do is to add both apks by default Still - since there is no setup wizard in microG you must go into Accessibility settings to enable and then do the normal microG setup anyway
  31. M

Post OmniROM Android R (11) for Pi 4

Add: you also need to install "Google Text-to-Speech"
  32. M

Post OmniROM Android R (11) for Pi 4

Use AuroraStore and install "Android Accessability Suite" I know it will be hard for you to do that initially without having in the first place but just putting the apk wont work. Instead you can use adb install <apk> If you are unable to use USB adb there is a dirty little secret that old...

I would need to look into that first before saying anything. But it would certainly help if you could provide all the resources and information you have about this topic But there are certain Google services that simply don't work with microG BTW USB adb works out of the box Just wireless...

New buiild 20201231 contains 2 new recovery scripts in the root folder so same place as where switch_boot_rom is resize_userdata This is basically a copy of the script from Konsta. This will resize partition 4 to grab all remaining space keeping data and project quota intact fix_quotas This is...

And my comment was just to illustrate that if something works on Samsung means nothing regarding AOSP. AOSP does not support it since google does not want to support it
  36. M

Post OmniROM Android R (11) for Pi 4

What does Samsung have to do with AOSP? I am going to reconsider that stretch goal once we have a solid base for v3d/drm (which will most prolly not happen in the lifespan of my rpi4) Until then I consider this use case an academical thought experiment.
  37. M

Post OmniROM Android R (11) for Pi 4

it also works with USB boot if you do all correct as described in README and change ALL config.txt.* files Line 45 in README BTW
  38. M

Post OmniROM Android R (11) for Pi 4

Show me first that Android can handle two displays to start with :) So now this is no use case at all for Android IMHO
  39. M

Post OmniROM Android R (11) for Pi 4

Build does not yet include firmware for new wifi thats in 400 Just wait for next build. You can just use Ethernet for now
  40. M

Post OmniROM Android R (11) for Pi 4

Still tune2fs might be required after the resize to enable project quotas again So if you face any issues in apps that they cant access storage make sure you run the tune2fs step
  41. M

Post OmniROM Android R (11) for Pi 4

tune2fs is only a part of the resize process - before you have to use fdisk and mkfs or any of the alternatives (cfdisk gparted ...) But in general you do it on your PC with the new userdata partition not mounted

New build 20201214 There is now a runtime property to change screen resolution without the need to edit /system/build.prop - which stil works if you want to use a permanent value You can do in a shell e.g. setprop persist.debug.drm.mode.force "1280x720" and reboot But make sure your screen...
