    Yes you have to flash a custom recovery. The full instructions to root it is: 1) unlock boot loader 2) flash a custom recovery 3) root it Hope it helps!

    Yes, maybe the easier way is to ask the user root access at the beginning of the script. what do you think? I tried to add udev rules but it seems not working. Thank you so much for this bug report, I have just updated the toolkit with the automatic creation of the folder twrp.

    Flashing Google Factory Image will restore your phone back to first use and you will lose all your data. If you lock the bootloader you will be UN-Rooted again.     Please note that you won't be able to install factory image on your Nexus 4 because Google pulls the image out of their servers. You will have to wait until they upload it again.
