Well my current target is Windows RT. gigsaw is telling right things in the general :) "nobody knows who i am maybe you would understand"? How do you know what I am doing? WTF  No, u don't. Well, I can't call Android really open sourced system. You often just can't get enough from...

recovery loaded from HBOOT. HBOOT loads only one: recovery.img or boot.img. So if I replace boot.img with MAGLDR, recovery still will be booted directly after HBOOT without MAGLDR execution. I am going to put a custom regions header at the start of "userdata", like "region name | region type |...

I am not using UART, only USB Serial. No, I don't want encryption. I need solution to cut space from "userdata" for another purposes, like Windows RT. Tetris needs proper control. We have only 3 real harware button. So it needs redesign... Well it won't solve a problem :) I already can connect USB Stick 32Gb via USB Hub and etc. But this prevents me from debugging cuz it's also done by USB.

    Post DFT-Cotulla's Development Thread

Well, after many attempts I am going to pay primary attention for dividing eMMC space to be able store files inside device. Otherwise it's very hard to debug and annoying start up. You need switch USB cables as hell  I really miss a microSD slot :mad::mad: But do Android and...

    Post DFT-Cotulla's Development Thread

Don't think so. Resizing without data lost is very hard and long operation - you need resize EXT4 for Android and resize NTFS for windows and etc. But if someone want and can he/she can implement it in the recovery and share results with community. Or maybe make android use NTFS instead of EXT4...

Well, after installation Windows RT 8.0 takes 8Gb  (no idea about 8.1RT yet) Probably it's possible to strip something out. Maybe someone will look in the future after DFT release and make custom "cleared" versions. Yes I am going to divide eMMC space to be able store Android and WRT. I...

    Post DFT-Cotulla's Development Thread

Well MAGLDR will be in the right boot.img format, so HBOOT will boot it like kernel. Then MAGLDR will load Linux kernel in case of Android boot. I think It's not good idea to touch HBOOT at all. So MAGLDR should run after it. 1)Android: HBOOT -> MAGLDR -> Linux kernel 2)Windows: HBOOT ->...

I got small progress already. Initial MAGLDR is working, initial UEFI is working, bootarm.efi boots from USB stick with WRT installation files. USB stick is connected via USB host. But it halts in such state - more stuff must be done to continue with installation (like eMMC access, ACPI...

it can be global user mode or kernel mode CreateProcess hook, which checks architecture field and takes proper actions :) doing same for LoadLibrary can be not really save and can be too complex: for example it can be hard to pass exception from emulated X86 code to ARM.

    Post OK, What? [Cotulla Twitter]

Operating System is often using small block transfers - 512 and 4K. 4K is ARM page size. It's why important to do fast transfers with that size. As well sometimes overall operations before and after tranfer can take more time than data transfer itself. Usually high class cards provide better...

Yes, it can be. All that NT is much more heavy. Actually I am looking only to LEO port - not enough resources for anothers. LEO has very well known environment for me as well tons of developed stuffs, it's a reson why it's possible. In case of another device it's clear start from zero. Too...

    Post OK, What? [Cotulla Twitter]

Yes it is. NAND memory is not used at all. Anyway like I said before a current speed is not enough, I am trying to improve it maybe it's possible. if that attempts fail it will be useless to continue develop it :(
  39. Cotulla

    Post OK, What? [Cotulla Twitter]

It is. But it's not possible to get good performance with it. LEO is also 576. It's near 512 - 24 = 488 Mb Actually after removing RAM for other subsystems remains 515Mb from 576Mb. But some hardware need a fixed buffers.
  40. Cotulla

    Post OK, What? [Cotulla Twitter]

The most important thing for SD is speed on the small blocks like 512 bytes and 4096 bytes. For example one noname card 4Gb gives me 2.5mb/sec and Sandisk 16Gb gives me only 1.2mb/sec for 512 blocks. For Windows RT it can be insufficient RAM, but it's possible to try ;)
  41. Cotulla

    Post OK, What? [Cotulla Twitter]

It's now running from SD card. NAND is not assumed to be supported by any way (there is no native support for such storage medias inside NT, as well no goal to add such support - cuz NAND is too small for that purposes) But SD cards are not really fast . . . unlike eMMC with 8bit bus inside...

I think the full dump is not really needed. The most of the disk space is taken by MainOS partition which is possible to grab from RUU. But 14Gb is still rather big, it should have most of as zeros or 0xFF inside. It should be compressed rather well. Also RUU in the adjacent thread is only...

It doesn't matter, because it needs to load drivers at the start up time. AFAIK the current verison of Root Tools doesn't allow that yet.
