Post CarbonROM for the Poco F1

On to the next... Hi all! I am a bit late to post this news, but I have retired from my role in CarbonROM and will be stepping away from Android open source development as a whole. There are many positive things going on in my life that have me strapped for bandwidth. I try my best to put in...

Post CarbonROM for the Poco F1

I will forward this to the team, but our bandwidth to resolve issues on Android 9 is kind of low. We will definitely address these issues in our next major release.

Post CarbonROM for the Poco F1

Hi y'all, sorry I disappeared for a bit, I was travelling for the past week and am finally back. Some good news: while I was gone, we officially released! Our WEEKLY builds can be found here https://get.carbonrom.org/device-beryllium.html. Since these builds are signed with our official release...

Post CarbonROM for the Poco F1

Since that's the case, I will research the issue and try to make a build with the new drivers when I get a chance.

Post CarbonROM for the Poco F1

No worries! This rom uses 9.1.24, as does most other ROMs. To be honest, I have never heard of that issue - I've never had such issues and there aren't any reports about it in this thread so far...

Post CarbonROM for the Poco F1

I just posted a build a couple of hours ago with the aforementioned changes. Was there something else you were expecting?

I cannot confirm whether it will work with banking apps, but it does pass safetynet without root. Here is a screenshot of the Magisk Manager showing that there is no root capabilities while passing both checks.

New updated build with IR support and auto face unlock! Find it in Settings -> Carbon Fibers -> Lock screen. CARBON-CR-7.0-OPAL-ADIN76-beryllium-20190321-2202.zip Unfortunately not yet. We can look into adding it though.

Also forgot to add that patch back in... will do that with the next build coming later today :crying:

Post CarbonROM for the Poco F1

We are bunkering down in preparation for official statuses. From here on out, any builds posted will be user builds, as we are moving out of userdebug. It's cooking; lots of exciting things happening behind the scenes that we are excited to share as soon as they're settled. - moved from...

Post CarbonROM for the Poco F1

Working to refactor the status bar animations so it isn't weird anymore. Will be adding those features in the future as we continue device bring up. PS. damn, the face unlock setup with the IR camera is creepy AS HELL :silly:

New build with the latest Pixel branch (9.0.0_r34) merged. Fixed some status bar padding and properly implemented IR camera face unlock. CARBON-CR-7.0-TBA-ADIN76-beryllium-20190311-0345.zip

Post CarbonROM for the Poco F1

I did not mention to test anything other than real-world performance (not AnTuTu or Geekbench): And I doubled down on that here: To put it plainly, by experience, I mean regular consumption of the software through daily usage. By benchmarking, I mean monitoring performance by running testing...

Post CarbonROM for the Poco F1

I said SPECIFIC benchmarks for a reason. I appreciate you posting, let me further elaborate: To put it into perspective: our modified libs are not to improve device specific performance, they are to improve software specific performance. What I mean by software specific performance is that we...

Post CarbonROM for the Poco F1

Thanks for hopping on so quick. Some key things for you guys to keep in mind: let me know if performance is noticeably different from other ROMs. We have included some precompiled bits that improve some specific benchmarks and we're looking to see if that translates to real-world performance.

Thread CarbonROM for the Poco F1

This is CarbonROM for the Poco F1. For those that follow us, you would know that we have been working since the hour the first Android 9.0 repositories dropped. The CarbonROM developers have been working on getting private builds up to our release standards - I am specifically working on feature...

Post [ROM][P][CR-7.0] CarbonoidOS builds for the Pixel 2 XL

Sorry guys for the very long wait. I haven't had a chance to build because of a bunch of reasons, one of which being that I made it to the final round of interviews for an internship I really want. Just did the interview this past week and am awaiting a response. It was pretty cool because the...

Post [ROM][P][CR-7.0] CarbonoidOS builds for the Pixel 2 XL

Let's get this bread. Using our optimized libs, no more battery icon settings for now, simplified a lot of settings, lots of code clean up. Getting around 6 hours of screen on time. Not like the stat really matters, that's just 6 hours of me not studying for my exams. Maybe I'll make battery...

Post [ROM][P][CR-7.0] CarbonoidOS builds for the Pixel 2 XL

Update: I kind of broke my machine trying to get this update out because the optimized libs baited me to do certain things the OS doesn't like. The things I do for Carbon... I'll be spending my Friday morning redoing my set up so that I can avoid these problems in the future. Also going to the...

I was close :silly::silly:. Hopefully you'll make more Carbon memories from here on out. It is Linux 4.9, the OP has been fixed. Next time, please don't quote the whole first post. Trimming it down to that one line prevents clutter.

Post [ROM][P][CR-7.0] CarbonoidOS builds for the Pixel 2 XL

I have decided to continue posting my development builds here. They will be under a different name, CarbonoidOS, to differentiate the fully stable CarbonROM builds from my experimental builds. Just a disclaimer, I often rebase. Backup often and be careful when dirty flashing, there is always a...

    Post [ROM][OFFICIAL][9.0.0][beryllium] LineageOS 16.0

I can assure you that benchmarks do not do justice when trying to prove that one ROM is faster than a other. Also, benchmarks don't prove anything about battery life, so the best way is to just try it out and see if you like it. :svetius:

    Post [ROM][OFFICIAL][9.0.0][beryllium] LineageOS 16.0

Not sure what you're trying to get at here, just trying to be helpful here. No logs were posted which is why I inferred it was most likely the permissions check. This is from personal experience when I brought up my rom and had quickstep supported launchers crash on me. Will leave it at that.

    Post [ROM][OFFICIAL][9.0.0][beryllium] LineageOS 16.0

I think it would help if you posted logs for these bugs... If Pixel Launcher crashes, then it's most likely because of a permissions check that can be removed with this commit.

Post [ROM][P][CR-7.0] CarbonoidOS builds for the Pixel 2 XL

We are currently juggling between multiple tasks at the moment. I am still in the process of cleaning up battery styles. The spacing in the status bar of AOSP is a mess (just my opinion). The spacing and constraints of all the right side icons are not uniform, which I intend to fix. I also...

Post ROM][OFFICIAL][9.0] OMNIROM [WEEKLIES] [15/09/2019] [EOL]

It is possible but Omni's 9.0 source does not support editing of the navigation bar height yet. You can modify the height using adb commands but I'd only suggest it if you fully understand what you're doing :good:.

Post [ROM][P][CR-7.0] CarbonoidOS builds for the Pixel 2 XL

Just an update on what I've been working on. I've redone the battery customizations. Changes to the icon is now a unimodal system so that it is all handled in frameworks/base so we don't need to be using packages/apps/CarbonFibers to help. One of the problems I've run into is changing the layout...

Hey guys, I'm back again. School started, so that's kept me busy, but I'd also like to flex a bit about what else has been keeping me busy. I was at a pretty popular 24-hour mental health hackathon in my area called Lumohacks a couple weekends ago. We were tasked to create a proof-of-concept...
