Post [Q] Stock Chrome browser slow loading pages

I'm beginning to think this may be a wifi connection issue, even tho my wifi tests faster than the 4G connection. Pages are loading much more quickly over 4G.

Post Internet pages loading slow apps take forever to connect

Just posted another thread about this issue, didn't see yours and am now realizing the problem may be the wifi connection. Web pages certainly seem to load faster over 4G, which is odd considering my wifi is faster if I check the connection speed. I noticed too that it took forever to find a...

I've noticed it also happens when using the "in app" browsers in Facebook or Twitter. I've also tried increasing the memory available to chrome using by typing in by changing maximum tiles for interest area to 512 to no avail.

Post [Q] Stock Chrome browser slow loading pages

I haven't tried any other versions of chrome...did notice that I wasn't even able to load a page at all while photos were uploading, wonder it has to do more with how it's handling data traffic.

Thread [Q] Stock Chrome browser slow loading pages

All, Have any of you new G4 owners been experiencing ridiculously slow page loading times with the stock browser? My old GS3 loads web pages much faster in Chrome by comparison, as does my work iPhone. What gives?! Thanks in advance!

Post [Q] Thoughts on CM 11

Quiet out there! Well, I've run across some reports of camera issues, but that's about the only negative I see with CM11 vs. TouchWiz so far. Oh, and losing WIFI calling, which has never been a big deal to me, but I do like having the option.

Thread [Q] Thoughts on CM 11

Could anyone running "stock" CM 11 on their T-Mo S3 comment on the experience? Is battery usage better/worse/the same as the stock TW 4.3 ROM? Any issues with screen auto-brightness, sensors, etc? Are there any stock Samsung apps that you miss? I'm on the fence right now- I've been stock &...

Post If YOU are noticing degraded battery life after kitkat update, post here!

More often than not, a factory reset will take care of battery issues after a major OS upgrade. I'm not sure if it's left-over system files or something about the "upgrading" of existing apps during the process, but I've had to do it with both my Galaxy S3 and Nexus 7 2012. Not every upgrade...

Post [Q] Google Chrome & Data Compression Option

Thanks for the suggestion- I might go ahead & do that. I prefer a stable build & Google claims the data compression option is now available, but I may have to resort to running the beta version if I want Chrome on my S3...

Thread [Q] Google Chrome & Data Compression Option

Hey all- I'm on stock TouchWiz 4.3 and I just installed the latest (v32) Chrome browser and can't get the option for data compression to show in the "Bandwidth Management" menu, the main reason why I downloaded it. I had a similar issue when I updated to the new version on my Nexus 7 (see this...

Post [Q] Chrome mobile data compression

Well, I installed Chrome v32 on my GS3 & can't get the option to show up no way, no how. I've tried clearing data, uninstalling, reinstalling, making sure data isn't being restored from my Google account, etc. I give up. :(

Thread [Q] Chrome mobile data compression

I'm hoping someone else here has updated to Chrome version 32— I keep reading it is supposed to have a data compression option, but when I go to settings, bandwidth management, the option to turn it on isn't available. Does it only show up on devices with mobile data? I was hoping to speed up...

Post Genuine S3 Extended Battery Kit Review

Got the 3000 mAh & the Diztronic case about a week ago and am loving it! As a review on Amazon put it, this is the battery the phone should have shipped with in the first place. So nice not to have the nagging worry in the back of my mind that if I'm going to be out & about all day, I need to...

Post [OTA Update] Touchwiz 4.3 T-Mobile NOW available! MJC.

I have always kept WIFI calling off except when I need it because of this issue- got tired of all the "certificate errors". I have also noticed that this phone doesn't seem to play well with certain wireless networks. If I connect at work, guaranteed it will disconnect after a few minutes and...

    Post T-Mobile to Verizon?

I had heard that this was the case- good to know if I should ever decide to jump ship to Verizon. I think many people (including myself) got used to hearing in the past that this was not possible due to Verizon phone being CDMA & not using SIM cards, but I guess this is changing with newer...

Post [OTA Update] Touchwiz 4.3 T-Mobile NOW available! MJC.

Yes, the friggin' keyboard setting finally sticks through a reboot! My wife likes to trash-talk her S3 (she has an iPhone from work that she prefers) and if I heard her complain about having to re-select Swiftkey after every reboot one more time, I was going to take a long walk off a short...

Thread 4.3 Update and Notification Bar Tranparency

Hey all, I updated to 4.3 and have been using the Nexus 5 launcher and notice that it does not seem to support the transparent notification bar like the stock TW launcher does after the update. I tried also installing Nova launcher that is supposed to support transparency as well on the S3 with...

    Post Update 4.4 rollout

Anybody having issues with WiFi during sleep? I have my N7 2012 with KitKat set to never keep WiFi on during sleep, but it seems to be staying on. Battery info shows it actually sleeping, but I am going to monitor with better battery stats to check the wakelock situation. EDIT: I think it is...

Post [OTA Update] Touchwiz 4.3 T-Mobile NOW available! MJC.

Thanks for the feedback & sorry to draw you off-topic. I'm pretty satisfied with my S3 battery life on stock 4.1.2 (we'll see how 4.3 pans out) just with some of the T-Mo bloat disabled, so sorry if I gave the impression I was unhappy. Have seen several reviews of the N5 citing mediocre...

Post [OTA Update] Touchwiz 4.3 T-Mobile NOW available! MJC.

Alternately, I think you can do the same thing if you go to Backup & Reset menu & deselect the option to keep your settings & data backed up to Google's servers... This setting is definitely something you don't need if you are rooted/on a custom ROM & do your own backups with a custom recovery...

Post Be wary of "forcing" OTA updates using Framework Services trick, breaks stuff

Well, installed the NRT updater & flashed first KRT16O & then KRT16S updates, then did a factory reset. So far, so good! Come to think of it, I had to sideload the 4.1.2 update for my GS3 using Kies because it never showed up on the phone. It popped right up on my wife's phone, but not mine...

    Post Update 4.4 rollout

Why the 2012 N7 does not have the ability to flash updates from the stock recovery is beyond me and a serious oversight that Google should fix...my GS3 stock recovery has the option and it is "locked down" Samsung we're talking about here. Not everyone has access to a PC, Google.

Post Kit Kat KRT16S rolling out

I'm an Android guy through & through, but I have to say that iOS upgrades seem to roll out quickly en masse (though they are not without their own issues). I expect this kind of wonkiness from a manufacturer or carrier upgrade, but not from Google on their Nexus devices...

    Post [ROM][LEAK #2] T-Mobile 4.3 - Build UVUEMJC - PureStock & Deodexed - Knox & CiQ Free

I wonder if the issues are largely because the OTA update doesn't require a factory reset after installing...most of the posters on the forum regularly flash custom ROMs are are used to doing a reset when switching. It's a pain, but maybe Samsung should make it require a reset but also require...
